I saw RENT last night at 8.
I was in the 5th row.
*i dont know if we had any understudies or not so if we did can someone tell me?*
Wow. I didnt think RENT would impact me as much as it did. The cast was great. I cried like a big baby from Without You to Goodbye Love and a little bit at the end. Melvin Bell III who played Angel was , ohmygod amazing. He just fit it so well and everything. When he was dying and shaking and stuff it scared me, it looked like for real. I started crying everytime. I loved his facial expressions when he was always trying to make bad situations happy hah. Declan Bennet who played Roger at first looked like he kept forgetting his lines and was struggling but then im like wait? I think hes suppose to do this because when he started to yell at Mark im like WOAH okay ya he's a good actor haha. I also loved Warren G Nolan Jr, who played Collins, wow he had such a strong voice singing Ill Cover You (Reprise). Amazing. Harley Jay was hilarious! at Mark. Ahh! He was great in the Tango Maureen part. Chante Carmel Frierson, who plays Joanne was pretty funny too. I could see her start crying during without you. She was hiding her face and wiping away the tears haha. Krystal Brown did a ohmygod FABULOUS job as MIMI! Great dancer, and everything. Michael Ifill played Benny, he was hilarious during La Vie Boheme , gooing WAITER WAITER WAITERRR hahah. Mauren was plated by Tracy McDowell. She was the funniest one up there. When Mimi was coming back and maureen goes oh my god, she's up there , smacks Collins really hard in the chest with her arm and blurts OH MY GOD ! I was cracking up. Over the Moon was hilarious too. I looked over to my dad and was like MOOO DAD MOOOO!
Okay during La Vie Boheme when the waiter says "pasta with meatless balls" one of the guys at the table is wearing a like really short shirt and looks all gay and puts his hand to his mouth and finger out and goes EW! really gayish , HAHA I couldnt stop laughing it was so funny lol .
After the show also I was walking back to my car and I saw a homeless man in a corner with all his belongings and starting balling. I was like shocked how good and powerful RENT was then I saw that and coudlnt help myself.
Well, thats my review on it.
