According to movies.com, RENT is one of 5 films to avoid this holiday season...assholes.
Enjoy!
In other news on the same site... Idina is listed as a "Holiday Hottie" whatever the heck that means.
That entire thing is making me giggle.
Don't go see it... but be sure to check out the lesbian.
Entertainment Weekly?
Er, movies.com?
"An utter lack of stars. Rosario Dawson and Taye Diggs are the only recognizable names in a cast of nobodies"
and that's the main reason

Grr... that's all I have to say about that.
Oh man, I'm avoiding that like the plague then. Justin Timberlake should SO have been Roger.
/sarcasm
*snort* The continuous conflicting views of their critics never fails to amuse me. This is the magazine, after all, that gave Hotel Rwanda a C+ when it was in theaters and an A when it came out on DVD. Watch this get a rave review from them in a few weeks.
This website clearly hasn't even seen RENT. Relax all, it's just some amateur acting like they know what they're talking about.
They're basing the entire thing off of the trailer.
Yeah, I was going to say... Entertainment Weekley is a pretty big whore for Rent.

Wait- EW had them on their must list or whatever they do as number 37 or something this summer. Now I'm confused.
Entertainment Weekly promotes Rent rather whorishly but, in fact, the writers have mixed opinions on the film.
And it's NOT entertainment Weekly, it's movies.com
.
The original poster is wrong, it's movies.com
The whole thing gave me a much needed grin mid-day. Especially because their complaint is the cast of "nobodies"
Warning Signs: An utter lack of stars. Rosario Dawson and Taye Diggs are the only recognizable names in a cast of nobodies, most of whom are from the original production … which was 10 years ago. Aren't these guys a little old to be playing 20-somethings? Plus, the trailer's musical numbers … um, those performances ain't exactly Broadway-caliber.
That amuses me, quite a bit.
Oh, pullleeezee. First of all - not Entertainment Weekly.
Second - they also say to avoid Ice Harvest, which looks hysterical and has John Cusack AND Billy Bob Thornton. Comedy gold.
Third - who gives a crap what one (I PROMISE YOU) intern at a third-rate website has to say??

*whine*
But Idina IS a Holiday Hottie, dammit.
*g*
Well, obviously the writer is going out of his way to be snarky, but the buzz on the film in Hollywood truly is bad. I'm sorry, don't shoot the messenger, but it is.
Didn't EW choose Rent as a must see at one point? Have they even seen the film, or are they just being randomly angry as usual?
THIS.
ISN'T.
ENTERTAINMENT.
WEEKLY.
Well, ICE HARVEST looks like a travesty...
lol at the review. I think some websites like to thrive on being controversial and reatarded.
Although the best review i ever read was at my school newspaper
It was for hte movie Romeo must die.
the review was:
Romeo Must Die: ... so let the bastard die.
All you need to know about this crap is what they wrote about Idina Menzel in the "Hotties" (gag) section:
"She won a Tony last summer for her role as the ugly sister in Broadway's Wicked."
Um, they weren't sisters, moron. You obviously didn't see the play, so shut the hell up already.
I'm done.
