I just don't get the "unknown" bash. How many movies out there are star-studded and turn out to be complete crap? Do I need to start listing them? Not to mention the fact that it looks like this person's entire article was taken from concerned fans' posts last fall. Movies.com is about a year behind the times.
ljay, we get it, you're a complete whore for Chicago. Do you have anything worthwhile to contribute other than to constantly proclaim Chicago's success? Start a Chicago movie thread and brag about it all you want there.
Wanting life but never knowing how

Didn't bother me at all. This board would be better off with more tangential discussions of that wonderful film.

Oh Orange if you knew anything, you would know I'm not even that crazy about the CHICAGO film.
I was just making a comparsion, that it dosen't look like this movie will be as successful as Chicago - which was a movie musical like Rent. Because I remember many people saying RENT will turn out like Chicago.
Have a nice day Orange. Our feelings for eachother seem to be mutual!

The other amusing quote was:
"Course of Action: Stay away. Far, far away. Unless you're one of those musical nuts who just can't resist. If that's the case, dial your expectations way down — after all, this is the guy who dumbed down the first Harry Potter. "
Cuz, you know, the first Harry Potter completely bombed at the worldwide box office which made everyone stay away from the sequels.

Did anyone notice that they list Fun with Dick and Jane on their holiday movie report card as a 6.5. Not a rave but one of the few films discussed. Then they also put it on the 5 films to avoid? Kind of confusing, no?
On a somewhat related tangent how do you move forward on the Hollywood hotties list? I can only see Amelia Warner. There's nothing to click to move to the next one on the list.

Posted: 11/10/05 at 9:34pmI heard it was good to see. Why did they...slam Rent?

i don't know, but i don't care. I'm seeing this movie opening night whether they like it or not.
(this post was dialed down, in my head, it was much nastier, but i'm to tired to type any more)

I completely agree with skittles and Emcee on this whole ljay thing.
Ljay, if you realllly think about it...most of your posts are about Chicago (or Sweet Charity), and it seems like you shamelessly flaunt your fandom and these shows all the darn time. Well, it's good to do it every once in a while, but all the time you must do this?
About this whole thing...
...hey, my grandmother always watches Rodger and Ebert every single Sunday. She can't be bothered...she HAS to watch.
So, I wanted to see Because of Winn-Dixie, which the two guys bombed. She thought it was a stinker because THEY said it was really bad. After a while, she caved in and took me to see it. Not only did I enjoy it, but she also enjoyed it!
Lesson of this little story: Don't listen to the critics a whole lot....heh...the end! LOL.

Posted: 11/11/05 at 1:54amThis really pissed me off. There should be some sort of pre-requisite for writing a review. Like, I don't know... ACTUALLY SEEING THE MOVIE!!! What a bunch of morons. That was full of redundancies. I can accept a bad review, but there has to be some substance to it. I respect other peoples opinions, but at least have some sort of evidence to back it up. I wouldn't even call this a review. Just some idiot who saw a trailer and came to his own conclusions about the movie. I'm glad Idina made their Holiday Hotties list, but referring to the role of Elphaba as the "ugly sister in Wicked" added insult to injury. The whole thing is just ridiculous. Thus ends my rant...good night.
