Sorry, I'm a heterosexual man who's very emotional right now. There is no question, after watching the Rent extras, that the alternate ending should have been the ending of the movie!!! End of the discussion. I mean, C'MON!!!!!!!!!!

And Goodbye Love?? BAD CUT!!

Chris Columbus is on my **** list. He needs to do something REALLY special to get off of it.

it was really good and it would have separated the movie from the stage show more but the ending that's in the movie is more true to the show.

Get over yourself. There have been over a dozen threads started today about the Rent DVD. You can spew elsewhere and *shock* possibly join into discussions that are already going on about this instead of thinking yours is the only opinion that matters.

Geez, chill. No one was being rude or "thread police". It is common courtesy to not start a new thread for every little nuance, especially when there are many threads where it will fit perfectly. Us Rent fans already piss off half the board with our abundance, we can at least be considerate.

What's the point in posting your opinion when it's obvious no one can persuade you any other way?

I personally liked the ending that was put in the movie much better than the Alternate one.

I didn't feel that the alternate ending (this, I think, was the original ending) worked. It removed you from the film completely. I also didn't like the way Wilson just sort of walked on the stage, almost as if he had simply missed his cue or something. I think the one that made it into the film was much better.

obviously nothing has changed on this board, crucify someone for putting up another Rent thread about the DVD when one already exists, oh my god, pull out the rifles, and the nasty comments, YOU ALL KNOW THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN SO JUST IGNORE IT AND GIVE IT A FEW DAYS AND IT WILL DIE DOWN, people are EXCITED about the Rent DVD as they were about the movie when it premiered, to all of you children out there grow up and if you see another rent thread just DON'T READ IT, now is that too hard?

Unless Rob or Craig decide on a rule chance, Jim has as much right to post his own new thread if he wants (and really I much prefer having several threads dealing with several different ascepts of the show - I find boards that have the 'one offical thread' tend to lack in creative and excellent conversation.

Of course people have a right to disagree, vocally if they wish (again of course unless Rob or Craig change the rules).

Funny that the DVD is available in the US already yet the movie hasn't even been realeased in theatres yet here in Oz. Very strange since we are never at the very very worst more then two weeks behind most feature films. Granted I am not a fan of RENT, but I am curious about why it hasn't gained cinematic release all the same.
