In the early 80s, I saw her playing the Marsha Mason role in a national tour of "Chapter Two." She was terrific.

Dawn Wells was actually a replacement for the Lucie Arnaz role in THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG on Broadway. Her character's songs required a strong singing voice. I had no idea Wells sang well enough to be cast as the lead in the show.

No, Dawn Welles did not do TPOS on Broadway. She only did the bus & truck tour.

As mentioned above, she played Sonia in THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG on tour in 1981. She had no Broadway credits.

She did Gaslight at a dinner theater in Houston, Tx (the Windmill, I believe) and my future acting teacher was in the cast. After local newspaper reviews came out that praised everyone but Wells, the stage manager informed the cast they had to act less well so as to "not upstage Miss Wells. She is our star."
