What a terrible shame. I got to see him twice onstage--he was phenomenal.
So sorry to hear this.
I'm so sorry to hear this. He was a wonderful actor.
So terribly sad. RIP.
Wow, so sad. Condolences to all that knew him.
Rest in Peace.
I was lucky enough and very excited to have the chance to see him in EQUUS with Daniel Radcliff.
Rest in Peace

Very saddened by this. A phenomenal talent... But an even nicer man. Rest in peace...
How devastating. He was so wonderful in so many ways. He will truly be missed. RIP.

He pulled off the nearly impossible: making a would-be pederast likable and sympathetic in THE HISTORY BOYS. I will never forget that towering performance nor his angst-ridden Dysart in EQUUS. May he rest in peace.
Never saw him live on stage, but love his film work. He will be missed.
This is so sad and he was so young still. RIP Mr. Griffiths

Great actor! He was terrific as the evil Vernon Dursley in the 'Harry Potter' films. RIP!

Personally liked his appearance on The Vicar of Dibley as the Bishop. Turned very few lines into hilarity.
I'm So Sorry To Hear This R.I.P. Mr. Griffiths Updated On: 3/29/13 at 01:24 PM
I saw him in The Sunshine Boys with Danny DeVito in London last year - they made an unlikely but terrific team. I know there were plans to bring the show to the US. What a shame. RIP, a wonderful actor.
Richard Griffiths' THE HISTORY BOYS co-star, Jamie Parker, wrote a very moving tribute to him.

Jamie Parker's Tribute to Richard Griffiths
That was a very beautiful tribute by Jamie Parker.
He had a small part, as himself, in the show Episodes, and he was just terrific. Had me laughing and crying.
Brilliant actor, lovely man, RIP
That tribute is stunning and made me tear up a bit.
