I'd seen Goulet in THE HAPPY TIME as well as in various productions at the Westbury Music Fair. He always impressed me as having a magnetic personality and a singing voice that was beautiful beyond description.
It had been my dream to hear him sing "The Song In The Sand" in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. In my mind's ear I thought the tune was written for his vocalizing. At yesterday's performance he more than exceeded my dream. His voice is still supple and in exceptional form for a man in his 70's. His rendition of the song actually gave me goosebumps. What a rare treat! What a memory to cherish!
Additionally, it was extremely touching to see this Broadway Legend shed tears on two occasions during the production. It was obvioushe loved ding this show and the audience's love was greatly appreciated by him.
During intermission I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Goulet. What a charming lady she is! We chatted briefly and I immediately fell in love with her accent. She's from Macedonia and in all my travels I've never met a Macedonian before. I now have and she was a delight!

I think Goulet would look SO MUCH BETTER if he would get a divorce from Miss Clairol.
He'd actually look younger with silver hair.

Etoile,
I can not imagine that someone would post something nasty about those two as a couple. Who did it? Where? I want names.

Dolly, Do the obvious and GOOGLE ringtones Goulet. You will find some sites, but they seem to be Ferrell doing Goulet.

Thanks for your research, but that's Will Ferrell imitating Goulet. I want the real thing.
I think it would be so cool if I was on a streetcorner noshing on a knish when all of a sudden my cell rang and Robert Goulet's mellifluous voice was heard singing "If Ever I would Leave You". I mean people would be really impressed, wouldn't they?

I worked with him years ago in South Pacific. I was Liat. He was so sweet and fun. He ran around backstage behind people with a whoopee cushion. His wife is an absolute gem of a woman. They threw our cast party at their home. I went to New York and he happened to be in Moon Over Buffalo at the time. I callled to let him know I was in town and to say hi. An hour later I had a ticket waiting for me at the box office. I hadn't even called for that. I sat with him forever backstage after the show and chatted. He met my husband a few years later at another run in and threatened his life if he didn't take care of me.
I just hate when people say mean things about the Goulets. They are wonderful people!!!
