No, it doesn't. Raúl is pronounced "Row*-ool."
*Not row as in "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," but sounding like "Now."
It's kind of like *growl* like *the dog growled at the robber*
So it sort of kind of rhymes with owl then?
Like Raoul from Phantom. Though I would love to see Emcee's response.
raul = towel, owl, foul. not raw-oool.
and on a side note it should also be mentioned that Idina is not eye-dina but uh-deena. :)
And on THAT note
Tartaglia=Tar-tag-lee-uh and not Tart-uh-gee-la

I acutally believe Tartaglia is tart-all-ya
I thought Idina was "ih-DEEN-uh"
And Tartaglia is "tar-TAH-lyuh"
I say Tar-Tag-Lee-Uh. Just how it's written.
Raul rhymes with......Brow-ool. :)
whoa idina i thought was ih-deen-uh...and yeh, raul with the accent backs it row (like now)-ool like pool. thats what the accent does and thats why it makes it not raul like owl.
for real? whenever i have heard it pronounced, i thought it was owl. haha i guess i'm not that observant. and he went to my school. oops.
but i do know for an absolute fact that idina is uh-deena. she talked about it in an interview a few years back.

And "D'Abruzzo" is not "Dee-uh-broo-zoh," it's "Duh-broo-zoh."
And I can't believe that my mother still pronounces "Chenoweth" as "Jenn-oh-with." (In my opinion, and I'm sure everyone else's opinion, that isn't a very hard name to mispronounce.)
This is fun. "It's 'Liza" with a 'Z'/Not 'Lisa' with an 'S'/'Cause 'Lisa' with an 'S' goes 'SSSSSSSSS' not 'ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.'" Lol
I'm pretty sure that I am correct with "Tar-tag-lee-uh"
That's the way I've always heard his last name pronounced
edit: just checked last year's Tony Awards, I am correct

I depends on how you pronounce it, if you pronounce it like "Rall" then it does. This how they do it in POTO, right??????
My mother couldn't pronounce his name correctly to save her life...
wow, I don't call Idina "eye-deena" or "Ah-deena"....I call her "i-deena" (with the 'i' sounding like it does in the word 'it')...so not THAT different from ah-deena.... is that weird? :/
and raul is "rah-ool"
