I am so proud of Fantasia, despite all the haters she is doing her thing. Fantasia keep you head up and shake the haters off. I love you voice and whatever part you play in Dreamgirls will be an asset to the film. I know there are a lot of people out there that don't like her, but there are a lot of people that do love her too and I am one of those people. All I can say is you are the ones with the problem not Fantasia, she is truly blessed and whatever you say about her only makes her stronger. She is a child of god and he does not let anyone hurt his children and whatever he has in store for her, you can't touch no matter what.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! Fantasia, girl keep your head up!!!!! the haters are out there, but the Fantasia lovers are too. Think about it.

I assume she's playing Lorrell. I think she's perfect for the part. Quirkly, legit voiced, good personality.

lol! Not you Bobby. The poster - she joined today to post about how amazing Fantasia is.

Anyway - Thankfully they are trying to get some real R&B talent for this - such as Vivian Green!

Yes, odd they just joined today. Ah well, I think Fantasia is perfect for the part, assuming that's the part she's playing. I just hope they get a good Effie, ie not Frenchie Davis. And as much as I like Jennifer Hudson's voice, I am assuming, and maybe I'm wrong, that she can't act. Just a hunch.

I still don't think you have any interest in Broadway. I feel you are only here to stick up for Fantasia. Sorry, but I think it's true.

Where is the announcement that she's even been cast?

Who's paying you to think. Yes, I have an interest in Broadway, and I also have an interest in Fantasia. You don't have a problem with bashing her and I don't have a problem sticking up for her.

Ugh why must religion be mentioned! Not all children of God are good singers! He didn't have enough time to bless everyone!

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

I hope it's true. I love Fantasia! By far, the strongest competitor on American Idol...just my humble opinion.

Ok I want to add my two cents or more on this subject. As far as Fantasia being casted nothing has been announced. For if she were casted in the movie they would have announced it and what role she would be portraying and neither has happened. Now I think Fantasia is a wonderful singer she really posses that old school fire. She reminds me of a young Patti LaBelle when she performs. I love her and think she would be perfect for the role of Lorell. No she has no previous acting credits but sometimes you can just tell when people perform they have that something that can transced all barriers, from music to, t.v and movies and she does posses that quality. I also would like to second the notion of Vivian Green being casted.

This comparing Fantasia to Patti Labelle needs to stop. Patti Labelle at her age now shes 100x better than Fantasia does.

Patti herself has said that Fantasia reminds her alot of herself when she performs.

Patti is one soulful performer. She dosen't run and jump around the stage like Fantasia - and makes a fool out of herself.

Now, if you are familiar with other wonderful R&B females - you would understand why myseld and others don't think Fantasia is anything to rave about.

Patti was Known for her wild stage moves. She rolls around on the floor and kicks her shoes off.
It may not happen now, but it is true.

Patti can still look classy doing that, Fantasia dosen't look classy.

Anyway, I think Fantasia tries too hard to be the next Mary J. Blige. Something she will never accomplish.

I think Fantasia has SO MUCH potential. I felt from the beginning of American Idol that she was BY FAR the most talented performer of that season. However, I think something happened after she won. Not sure if it's managers or producers, but she's lost some of the "natural" feel to her performing that made her so special. I feel, if she has a director/producer who is willing to tell her that they don't "buy" some of the things she's trying vocally or understand why she's doing some of the moves she is, then I think there really isn't anything out of her reach. I also think she's probably "lived" more in her 19 years than many people have, so I feel she has a lot more experience that she can bring to acting than many people her age would.

I read somewhere that Deborah Cox was offered the role of Lorrel. Either it wasnt true or she turned it down. Ehh, cant belive anything you read on these websites...

Assuming Fantasia can act, she would be a great Lorrell. Not only is her voice well suited for songs like "Aint No Party", but she's a great contrast to Beyonce and the type of actress/vocalist there considering for Effie. I say, "Good Choice"! There are worse choices out there.
