in terms of music I think Pink could do a fun score and like a jerry Mitchell or Matthew Lopez.


I think it reads as a musical over a play.

I'm not sure about casting, but in terms of composers I could see someone like Marc Shaiman fitting well, bringing the same kind of high-energy pastiche he did for Some Like it Hot.

I would love more lgbt+ musicals in general where they don’t die at the end.

As a theatre composer. I will say last week I reached out to management to discuss the possibility of a musical. I was told that the rights were unavailable- either a musical is already in development or they are tied up with the film right holders.


I would be curious to see what Kelly Clarkson or Taylor swift could do with it. I just don’t know if they’d attach themself to a project like that. It would definitely need to be fun modern pop music.


to me the book definitely read as a musical.
