No, but it links an article which would lead to discussion about Cry Baby.

You know neddyfrank, this is the kind of inane argument that has led so many people to get on your case and/or dismiss anything you have to say as irrelevant.

This thread is not the one designated to REVIEWS of a show that just opened in La Jolla. That is NOT what the thread is about. There are other threads dedicated to that. This thread is about a show that is rumored to be closing and replaced by the show someone posted a review of. If you don't understand why this is tacky, then you are an insensitive boob.

First of all, I was unable to find a thread re CRY-BABY reviews when I did a search on this board- if there is a thread- I couldn't find it.

Secondly, Drowsy Chaperone is closing- and guess what, the sky won't fall and the earth won't stand still. The show is still touring and Beth Leavel will do some TV work before getting cast in another show.

Thirdly, there's a strike going on- and you can direct your anger at the stagehands and the producers and get them back to the negotiating table rather than attacking fellow BWW'ers.

I'm not angry at you or anyone. I just think it's TACKY...especially coming from someone "in the business" who should know better.

I just did a search and came up with several threads dedicated to CRY-BABY. But, as I said, you could have started one yourself. But if you don't, it just proves my point.

There are several threads on the board. Are you saying Brwybaby you don't know how to start a thread? Why not ask neddyfrank since he has been involved with the Cry Baby production for sometime now I am sure he can help you out. I can just ask to have it deleted since it is off topic here.

I am only suggesting this because if it isn't I will follow with the LA Times comments about that show which I really rather not have to do here. It is completely off topic and makes no announcement as to where the show is heading except to NY.

No, Neddy, my posts under this topic make my views perfectly clear on how I feel about the show following Drowsy. Please though, when you lie through your teeth I can see right through them. If you were a respectable business man you would have held back your comments at least until tickets were in pre-sale for your show instead of saying negative things under Drowsy's topics. You have tried to pretend you are just a poster when really what you are is just a hack.

At least let us be clear about that for everyone posting here. I love the show. I know it is great and I make no apologies whatsoever for promoting it not just here neddy but everywhere else I like to post that theatre fans like to gather and talk about this show. Why? It won numerous Tony's and Drama Desk Awards. Gosh? I guess I am not alone in how much I love Drowsy! If I was anything like neddy I would have gone to that other thread and on topic posted what I got from the review. I did not because I don't want the rest of the show to suffer from one bad player.

I have no affiliation with Drowsy other than being a fan. I talk about many other shows as well. Since I don't live in New York there aren't many for me to talk about. I don't also enjoy everything that I see. Though most shows I enjoy.

Drowsy hasn't ended and will play until February. Unless something happens and it is pushed out for a later closing date. No other show has yet been advertised here with an official opening date. Nothing showing up either at the Marquis Website yet. No other Marquis tickets being sold except for Drowsy and I know the crew at Drowsy are the best. I also know, except for that stagedoor man, the staff at the Marquis is the very best.

Those of us who love this show need to make no apologies for what we like. Our taste has been confirmed. Drowzy has proven itself worthy of Broadway. I don't want to see it go before its time and honestly now I really doubt that it will. We have Cindy Williams maybe coming in and maybe even someone else in January? Whose to say what the future might bring?

One thing is for sure, it isn't closing in December. I really doubt even if the strike lasts a month, it will effect Drowsy from re-opening in December.

Let us look at this way. Drowsy has money and is making money for the Marquis. When it does close and other show tickets go on sale, they still have to wait for Drowsy to load out. Then they have to load in. The Marquis is not going to let go of a show that is guaranteed an income until they have to. So they too are hoping no matter what that Drowsy will re-open so that they can get paid more. They are still collecting rent but they are losing out on the percentages a daily show will bring.

Any new show coming in has put up a hefty deposit, maybe already it has been paid out. Then they have to sell tickets in advance. So Drowsy isn't going anywhere just yet.

My complaint against neddy is simple. He is a hack who has, as previously mentioned, posted here in hopes of getting his show into the Marquis earlier than planned and basically spreading ill will for those at the Marquis who need this money to pay their bills. If he cared at all about the theatre or the cast of Drowsy he would have either kept quiet or at least refrained from making rude comments about when he thinks Drowsy will close. He has no idea. Even if he does those people he claims he loves will sue him for announcing it since he is in the business and not authorized to do so. They will also try to sue his Parent Co. as well so he cannot.

The people in this show work under contracts. Some of which will not expire before Drowsy closes. Such is the business but at least let the wolves stand at bay and allow this show to gracefully leave as it came into this Theatre a couple of years ago.

So I will say go and see Drowzy when the strike is over because neddy just loves it. It is still a great show and just as funny with Bob Saget so I hear. With new additions it will be worth returning once again to a very funny and smart musical on Broadway.

Tkt2ride-

Tkt2Ride- First, please explain to me how the hell they are going to sue me. They have no idea who I am or any of my contact information. Three words- Freedom of Speech. Second, I really like how you call it "my show" since I actually have no connection to the comercial production of Cry Baby and once it goes to Broadway chances are I won't even go and see it!

When does Beth's contract with Drowsy end?

But BWW does. Ever hear of a Court Order? Someone needs to plug this leak at La Jolla in San Diego. Even St Martin doesn't like you.

Yet if you work for a Company that has inside information and you use that inappropriately it can get you fired. Considering how bad you are at PR in general maybe you should think more before you speak.

The point being neddy, who cares? I mean at all beside you?

Please once again take note that now Neddy has stated he will not be attending the show Cry Baby in NY. He also is not associated with the Production so his comments are then just hearsay. Wait for official announcements from The Marquis and The Drowsy Chaperone and not Neddy. He just thinks he has something to say, over and over and over again.

I can only surmise it is because he doesn't want anyone who has waited this long to miss The Drowsy Chaperone because he really does love it. So do I!

I thought Beth's contract is until Apr? Mara's though was suppose to last until at least June-July.

No idea when Beth's contract is supposed to be up, but Mara is contracted for a year (July).

You think I actually gave BWW my real information?

And I don't understand why you are refusing to believe that Drowsy is closing. I am not the first person to say it, actually people said it on the board a few times before I said it!

Obviously you or else you would not respond to every single post I made trying to convince yourself that Drowsy is not closing!

Just wait. You will see that I am right...

Also, why do you care if I leak information? What's it to you?
