Rent Blog Update - Midnight Showing

Be one of the first to see the movie RENT! Come to the midnight screening on Tuesday, November 22 at the Ziegfeld Theater on 54th Street in New York City - songsheets in hand (unless you already know all the words). And there are rumors afloat that some of the movie's cast members will be at this showing. Tickets are on sale at Moviefone. See you there!

They're ENCOURAGING singing along?

don't worry, we know anyone who attempts to sing will get beat up by a mob of angry rentheads.

hopefully--they mean bring your songsheets so that you can READ ALONG.

wait i went to look at the page on the website and its not working. weird!

I will be there. And I still have two extra kids tickets if anybody is interested - I will give them away for free. I am crossing my fingers some of the cast will be there. I don't want to hear anybody sing along with the music - maybe some mooing would be ok though :) I have always pictured the whole audience clapping along to Seasons of Love...guess I'll have to wait and see.

Already saw RENT (the movie). The way they did it was great since I went with a person who has never seen the show (yes, those types of people do exist). They were able to make changes so even those who don't know anything about RENT, can follow.

I was impressed by Rosario Dawson, and it was weird, but refreshing the way they changed some of the songs into dialogue.

I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from mooing either - lol. Going to the 7pm on Wed at the Zeigfeld instead.

I think they're having people sing at this show to get it out of their systems and not distract the regular movie-going audiences later on.

Cast appearances- won't they have just come from the screening with the Q&A? Seeing yourself in the same movie back to back would get a little old.

does anyone know if the cast will actually be there during the screening on the 22nd? I think someone asked on the anthony rapp thread, hoping he would answer the question since he came back. maybe they'll only be there for the q & a.

when I saw the "rumor has it" on the blog, I immediately thought if anyone would go to the midnight screening, it would be anthony.
