I know it's only the second night, but has anyone done the lottery yet? How has it been/ how many people showed up? I want to try it this weekend, so just checking. Also, is there an age limit? I have a 12 year old cousin and want to know if they could enter to increase chances.

Thanks

There was a decent sized crowd last night. Not sure how it went today. As far as I know, there's no age limit as long as he's got a photo ID to show.

Tried it on Thursday night and there were probably around 60 people. They did have lotto loser tickets for $40 though. I just went to the St James and won front row for Hair instead!

Does anyone know where the $40 tickets are located in the theater?

I didn't get them, but the girl running the lotto said it is just whatever they have left. Can be in the first few rows of the orchestra or the last row of the mezzanine, just whatever is left

I was just going to ask about the lotto loser seats! I was there for the lottery twice last weekend and was unsuccessful with both Rent Lottery They announced that they had $80 tickets for each performance if anyone was interested and I kept thinking to myself that they would have much more interested for a cheaper lotto alternative. I would definitely go for the lotto loser seats for Rent next time I am there! It's only $15 more and there are other shows that have cheaper lotto/rush policies but I'm glad they announced the "lotto loser" seats for Rent :)

They didn't offer any lotto loser seats last Saturday. Only the $80 seats. I wonder if it's based on availability?

It was really easy on Sunday. I think almost everyone who entered won.

If you get a chance, go for the mezzanine. Because of the heavy use of platforms, I definitely sitting upstairs. You'll see so much more of the set and staging, and it's a whole other experience.

i went this sunday matinee and everyone won tickets, but i cant speak if that is generally true or not. however if you plan on going between now and Feb 6 you can get a ticket via 20 at 20. so 20 minutes before showtime tickets that are not sold yet are sold for $20 cash which is excellent! you shouldnt hav a problem getting a ticket at all. I am not a fan of this production but after having seen it from the front row and from further back in the orchestra i think i do not like sitting in the front row for this production. it is almost an obstructed view at times depending on where your seats fall in the row.

I did lotto right before Christmas and everyone won plus there were some left over. I would rather sit a little further back though for this production since from front row you can't see half of it(due to the set up of the stage) if you are in the seats on the sides like I was.

From the front row it can be really hard to see "Over the Moon," but you also are spared most of the projections during "What You Own," so it's mostly a winner in my book.

Now is a good time to do the lottery or even take advantage of 20@20 since it is a slow time of the year. RENT is participating in that offer.

Lizzie, I actually like those projections. When I first saw them I thought they were a bit much but they work for me. JMO Also, the view from the mezz. is great. You have a perfect view of everything.
