Rent Movie Trailer Ideas

Since the RENT movie trailer is set to come out in maybe a month or so, what do you think would make a cool trailer? What do you want to see in it?

Hopefully enough to keep the fans sastified, but JUST enough to keep it intriguing.

I'm also betting on clips of Another Day, Rent, and Seasons of Love being in there.

For the extended version that will be in the theaters, I would love to see it begin with "Seasons of Love" then bust into "RENT" and "La Vie Boheme" and then ending with a big montage featuring the finale of Act Two. That's all I ask. They can add anything else.

I can see it beginning with Out Tonight, with the orchestrations and all .The cutting to maybe Another Day, then La Vie Boheme, and ending with No Day But Today.

I hope its something like the NY commercial, that there is a link to on this site...i think that that is enough to make RENTheads cheer in the theatres, and enough to make everyone else curious about "what the hell are they soo happy about?" and curious to see it...but maybe thats more of a teaser suggestion...

i hate it when they show too much of the movie in trailers...for the past 3 months, i've been closing my eyes and turning my head away from the tv when i see a trailer of a film that i am planning to see...they ruin the experience for me..so i hope they dont do it with RENT...although i probably will avoid the trailers anyway... :O) Updated On: 4/25/05 at 07:23 PM

i have a feeling that seasons of love will be the prominent song in the trailer. I also hope that it is like the commercial.

bjivie2- That's pretty much what I had in mind. Just the thought of hearing that opening piano part of Seasons of Love gets me excited. Diddo on the Act 2 Finale montage at the end, that would be awesome.

Im sure Seasons of Love and RENT will be the song playing most of the time. (It should start out playing RENT and then change to Seasons)

Id love to see Out Tonight, Light My Candle, RENT, La Vie Boheme, and Take Me Or Leave Me clips in there.

My bet is the opening chords of SOL opening the trailer. Very little actual footage (if any), ending with some sort of vocals (maybe the end of Rent, part of SOL or the final harmony of the show). Its only a teaser trailer, its not going to be anything too special (VERY exciting, yes, but not too revealing or special)

maybe i love the Ny commercial too much...but i do hope that they use the Finale B somewhere towards the end of the trailer...

As long as it sticks true to the show and retains that gritty, dark quality I'm perfectly happy with whatever clips they decide to put in. As someone else said, enough to give us something to sink our teeth into but not enough to spoil the whole movie for us.

I hope it starts with the opening chords to Out Tongiht then it goes into RENT sort of like the official RENT website. I am so anxious to hear what the movie instramentals sound like! Seasons of Love would laso be a good one to put in the trailer. I can't wait!!!!

Yeah I agree, the instrumentals sound like they're going to be phenomenal and blow the old instrumentals out of the water. I can't wait to hear. On that clip floating around of Without You and a bit of What You Own you can hear the instrumental changes to it and it sounded awsome!

I've been thinking about this for a long time and I was thinking that it would start with maybe the La Vie Boheme riot scene and keep going with clips from "Seasons of Love", "Another Day", maybe "Goodbye Love", or "Your Eyes", and "Rent" and end it with the line 'cause everything is rent!' but that's just me.

I like the idea of it ending with "Everything is rent". I't be cool if they did it to a really fast, strong song like Rent to a bunch of different shots that cut quickly from one to the other but somehow go with the music playing. Don't know if that made any sense but to give off that crazy, full-of-life vibe.

I hope it is like the NY commercial cause that one is amazing and it gives me chills just watching it. I'm thinking it will have a lot of shots with mimi and roger. But I really don't know. All I know is I can't wait to see the trailer, I will get so excited every time I see it no matter how many times it playes.

Don't they often have more than one trailer for a movie? Cause I think both 'Everything is Rent' and 'No day but today' are brilliant endings. And I think a good starting would be the opening chords of Seasons of Love with a montage or something of all the main characters. I would also love it if they showed some of La Vie Boheme.
