I agree rorschach37. Although I don't see a cast recording being made after the first preview, if this production gains momentum and is a commercial success I could easily see a new recording..
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
They "deserve" it? How could that possibly be? Heck, they might ALL suck.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
"Yes, but Adam Chanler-Berat is in it!!!!! I need him as mark on CD!!! "
EXHIBIT A: Adam C-B is in for a world of hurt with all the N2N freaks and now RENTHEADS that are going to become even more obsessed with him.
I hope security is in his contract.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
there is no 'deserve' about it. why do they 'deserve' it? will there be a recording? probably.. it is a 'new' production. the avenue q argument doesn't hold much water here though since that was a direct transfer, not a 'new' production. i mean, by the logic involved there, the original production of once upon a matress should have 2 cast recordings, rock of ages should have made a new one when they transfered, les miz should have recorded one when it went from the broadway to the imperial...
Well, I see the recording coming now that a whopping 81 folks have signed your petition.
You do realize that apart from Betty White on SNL, online petitions are totally ineffective, don't you? And 81 people having signed isn't going to get you a recording -- I'm not saying there won't be one, but it will have nothing to do with your petition. Do you really think a large financial decision is going to be based on an unverified online petition?
And how are anyone's comments here "political"?

Yes, we have already been through this. A petition can lead to bigger things though like raising money.
Done research.
People need to stop being so obnoxious. If you have a problem with it, go away. It isn't hurting anyone. People should be thrilled that people are trying to support the arts!!!
