For those who didn't hear or see it here is run down of the songs and changes.
1st all electric guitars were removed, a decision which some songs could not recover from.
1.Opening, (Will I and Seasons Of Love).Almost untouced sounded pretty nice.
2.(Tune Up), Poorly Done, Lines Changed, answer Phone messages spoken (by Kylie Minogue)
3.(Rent) Awful Awful Awful, replaced Guitars with Synthesizers, No energy at all, also very messy and sounded like a cheap backing track
4.(One Song Glory), Pretty much the same without the guitar build on the chorus.
5.(Light My Candle), Drab and very computerized, again sounded like a cheap backing track
6. (Today 4 U) Sounds like something from Closer To Heaven, very gay soho nightclub from the 90s, Jay Webb's UK accent didn't help(this got a lot of laughter when i watched it both times)
7. (You'll See) Very RnB, Didn't really register
8. (Life Support) Not bad, pretty much the same as Broadway with a few minor changes.
9. (Out Tonight) Biggest shock, became a jazz type song which was totally out of sync with the rest of the show.Badly staged too.A lot of anger from people on the interval when i was there about this one
10.(Another Day) Apart from Luke this was just silly, it became a 60s sounding shoop shoop song (complete with backing singers), funnier still was that it was staged so Mimi and Roger weren't even in the same building.
11 (Will I) The same, very nicely sung
12. (Santa Fe) Again very RnB, was OK
13. (I'll Cover You) Bit faster and computerized music again
14. (Were OK) Exactly the same
15. (Tango Maureen) Very OTT complete with Dance Break and dancers, the music was even more flamenco style
16. (Christmas Bells) just the same, and brilliant (except from some terrible staging inc Floating Christmas Trees)
ACT 2
17. (Over The Moon) Pulled out way to much, went on for over 10 mins with Maureen talking to the audience at one point. It also started with all the cast holding placards singing Over The Moon.
18.(La Vie Boheme) BLOODY AWFUL, dance music with slight techno beats.Singing was all over the place and out of time. The music didn't match the timing of the Lyrics.Very Synth based..AWFUL
17.(Happy New Year) Nearly fell off my seat laughing. The music was now Madonnas Holiday.it was all so messy and all over the place. They tried to make it a song instead of sung dialog.Very Funny
18.(Take Me Or Leave Me) another jaw droopingly stupid moment. It became a disco song and sounded like a backing track (which it was).Denise and Francesca who played Maureen and Joanne were so limited to what they could do with it because you cant improv on a backing track, very flat.
19.(Without You) Almost the same with some extra orchestra sweeps (all very computer sounding of course) Unfortunately it was the dreadful Siobhan singing it.
20.(Contact) Very Good, dance beats and breathy spoken lyrics, very tribal/dance sounding, very very different to the Broadway one.
21.(Halloween) Pretty much the same but so much dialog was removed it became pointless
22.(Goodbye Love) Same again but dreadful vocals.
23.(What You Own) DREADFUL, Became a ballad (and a bad one) very Emo sounding, terrible vocals and orchestrations. Also after so many ballads really slowed the show down when on Broadway this song lifted the energy back up.
24. (Finale and Your Eyes) The same and done pretty well (the scene where Mimi died and came back was so poorly staged and acted though it drew laughter)
25. (Seasons Of Love) The same with some more (fake) instruments thrown in.
And thats it
Hope that helps
The biggest problem was the computer generated music which killed nearly every song
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
