This is very good for both shows. I wonder what RENT is up against in their categories - especially soundtrack (their site isn't updated yet). Recognition for the ensemble is definately well deserved! Hopefully the Golden Globes will produce a nomination or two.
2 million at the box office this week - nominations could boost that up. Hopefully before theaters start to pull the show.
Such nay-saying. It's still in the top 10 after 3 weeks, that's good. How's In the Mix doing? Not that I'm comparing Rent to that gargbage, I'm just saying it's not that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Congratulations to you and the cast Anthony, you all really deserve all the acclaim

No nay-saying from me, but with movies like Narnia and King Kong, theaters will need to free up screens. 10th is respectable considering what its up against. And... In the Mix is 13th (estimated weekend at least) with $800,000.
Congrats Anthony!! I'm so happy with those noms!

I think it might be highly amusing to watch the Rent cast get completely hammered at the Golden Globes.

Only if I can get hammered along with them from home.
Hmmmm....if, wait positive thoughts here, WHEN they get a nom I will throw a "let's get loaded and watch the Golden Globes" party.
You're brilliant Mandi.
Edit: That Adam icon of yours makes me giggle every single time I see it.
Congratulations to all of you!
Crossing my fingers, toes and everything else that can be crossed for Tuesday.

Agreed! all eight of the cast was amazing. All the award nominations are well deserved. Congrats and good luck with them! you all deserve to win!
Congratulations Anthony and the rest of the cast!
I agree that it's wonderful to see you all nominated for "Ensemble" work, since you all were the perfect example of a great ensemble, and to me, the movie stressed that even more than the show.
Here's hoping that this is just the beginning of awards recognition so that Rent can stay in theaters longer and more people can be exposed to this wonderful story!
Am I just being optimistic here? I really think RENT stands an excellent chance of getting a Golden Globe nomination. *fingers crossed*

Congrats! **good karma for Tuesday**
so, Anthony, will you and the rest of the cast(or some) be in attendance?
Just wanted to say congrats, Anthony! Rent really deserves any awards and nominations it can get!
Congratulations! And in your specific film's case I think ensemble nominations are incredibly special. I'm crossing my fingers for a SAG one. (and of course for Tuesday)!
Congradulations Anthony! And congrats to the rest of the cast too! That's awsome.
::crosses fingers for Golden Globes:: Although I completely agree with 'Etrurielle' on her comment about there being no excuse seeing as how there is a musical category. lol. Are you nervous at all or anxious? Do you feel that RENT has a good chance at getting a nomination? And, last question I promise, what's next on your agenda? Broadway? Break? Something small or do you know yet?
Anyway, rambling stops now. Night!
