Wax Lion says that the original fitting was years ago and was very, very easy. He just went shopping. But the style is out of date for todays market, so a replica had to be made. He's wearing it in his icon and it's very comfy.
Love,

Posted: 6/3/05 at 1:30pmI really do think Jesse is going to shock his Law & Order fan base - in a great way! When the RENT tour came to my small town in TN, the old ladies (think red hat society) were rockin out. They all sound so amazing on the trailer. I am THRILLED!

My $.02 - This TRAILER is beautiful. Adam is scorching, as usual. Everyone looks great and the set looks gorgeous. I had high expectations for this trailer and it just blew me away.
My first thoughts about this movie were, "Oh, heck no. This will definitely not work."
I completely take that statement back and am counting down the days 'till November.

I just loved, loved this trailer! I have watched about 50 times and I am so happy about this. So many things in the trailer truly gave me chills! I loved:
- Traci's solo in SOLO was amazing, this woman can sing, and she made me very happy, an amazing choice for Joanne indeed!
- Roger and Mark's hug, that was very touching.
- Roario dancing at the club!!!~!!!!! Oh lordy, this almost gave me a heart attach! This girl is going to do amazing...can not not, not at all wait!
- The cemetary was chilling, I loved this! It almost made me cry...
All in all, I can not wait a second longer for this movie, let alone five months! It seems like forever, so I will be watching the trailer daily, and anticipating....

Y'know, I'm getting annoyed with people (on other threads) that say Chicago was a fluke and that Rent won't be a big film. Bullcrap, I say! It has a top-line director, studio backing, is being released at prime Oscar time, and the source material won a freaking Tony and Pulitzer Prize!!
Maybe not actor Oscars because it's an ensemble (maybe supporting?), but the film could DEFINITELY be a contender when all is said and done. Best picture, a LOCK for songs, cinematography, etc...
And yeah, I like The Producers, too, but Mel Brooks ain't winning a gold statue anytime soon, y'know? Maybe Roger Bart. But no movie with Wil Ferrell in it will ever get Oscar consideration....

Posted: 6/3/05 at 2:39pmI'm not wild about Rent as a show, but you know what? That's a very well-done trailer. It used a good song and the editing flowed well with it. If the editing of the film shows the same kind of musical sense I'll be both surprised and pleased. Heck, it was even the first time I could see the appeal of Adam Pascal. Applause to whoever put this thing together.

Posted: 6/3/05 at 2:43pmI do hope Adam took acting classes for the film.

Posted: 6/3/05 at 2:44pmi don't think that was Mimi's Out Tonight costume, i think it was her dancing in the club. I thought i read somewhere that someone visited the set and saw Rosario in the famous blue spandex pants and girrafe boots so i think the out tonight costume is the same.

Actually, Mel Brooks has been nominated for three gold statues, one of which he won...for the screenplay of The Producers, as a matter of fact.
And I'm sure the same thing you said about Will Ferrell was once said about Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, Virginia Madsen, etc.

"Jesse L. Martin is going to SHOCK those heathens that think he's just the guy from Law & Order, isn't he??"
I'm going to admit to being a bad Rent fan: After loving Rent and watching him on L&O for 5 years, it honestly just occured to me last year that Jesse was both Det. Green AND Collins. I mean, every time I saw him on L&O, I would think "Wow, he looks familiar", but I never connected the two, because the roles are practically polar-opposite.
The trailer looks amazing, I watched it about 10 times in a row at 3am and got more excited each time. I'm just so freakin' happy, I don't care if the blue pants are only shown lying on the floor in the loft. The costumes are only the icing on the cake, because everything just looks so good...and this is just based on the 2 and a half minute trailer!
Wax Lion, I love your icon, and heard very good things about the show you starred in, but never got a chance to see it before stupid Fox cancelled it.

I loved that the trailer had Rosario in the club, but I really want her to sing Out Tonight in the blue pants!
So, I am very dissapointed about that, but that might not have been out tonight so I am really anxious. Other than that, I LOVED IT! I am really excited about hearing the soundtrack redone. I beleive that it sounds wonderful. My favorite part was that Angel backflip! WOW! In those heels! I just love it!

Posted: 6/3/05 at 3:19pmI've never seen the show and hardly heard more than a few songs off the CR, but the trailer was beautiful and very moving. I got the chills all over when they sang and it looks like it's going to be awesome. But I agree that the trailer itself was put together very brilliantly. Touching.

Posted: 6/3/05 at 3:20pmI'm thinking the girl that is not Rosario that Adam is making out with in the trailer... that would be April. Apparently there's some flashback sequences. Like when you see Adam then you see April and he's playing a gig somewhere... anyways. I think I remember hearing that you see some serious drug use, so it's pretty intense.

Wax Lion says that Jaded-Octobruary is half-way right. OUT TONIGHT starts at The Cat Scratch and moves on to Mimi walking home, entering the apartment building and making her way up to see Roger. There's a clip of Ro kissing Adam in between OUT TONIGHT and ANOTHER DAY in the teaser. It works great in the movie...look for it! And as far as costumes go, Mimi wears several different costumes during OUT TONIGHT.
Love,
Wax Lion

Rentaholic2 - thanks for correcting my obvious ignorance of Brooks' accolades.
And - I agree about the Wil Ferrell / Carrey connection. I happen to like Ferrell very much. I just meant that I don't think he has any respect as an actor yet. But I laughed my ass off at Anchorman, believe me...

to be off topic some more, isnt his new movie "kicking and screaming" a little bit more serious? more serious meaning it's not one of the typical will ferrell outrageous characters.

I don't think so. It's just a Bad News Bears/Mighty Ducks knockoff on a soccer field, from what I can see.
I won't see Bewitched because I can't stand Nicole Kidman (eat a sandwich already!!!), but he's supposed to be very good in it.
