I think for people who are so invested in the show, that's a really difficult credo to adhere to - people are going to have huge expectations of this thing. It's absurd to expect that not to be a big part of the buzz that surrounds this movie - for a lot of people who are going to be seeing it, I'd not come close to assuming that they'd go in with the "well, let's see how entertaining this can be" attitude.

I think the trailer is PERFECt and made me even more excited about the movie. It looks amazing.

Someone mentioned Jesse putting the roses on the casket and I just have to add that TOTALLY got me. I was tearing up before that, but when it got to that scene I all out lost it.

Emcee- I completely agree with you. My comment was directed at people who are coming in and viewing it with a negative attitude. I was talking about those people NOT involved directly in the cast and crew and can't really judge it just yet. They should look at the trailer for the entertaining aspects, not to pick out all the things they think are wrong or bad.

emcee - how cute are you with your parents??? my parents saw it with me a few years ago and they said "that didn't turn me on." and "I didn't get too excited about that one," - to this day i still love those quotes :) but i must say..... i am kind of nervous - it could be as awesome as we are hoping, or an elaborate music video. i know that i will like it, but i just hope that it gets a lot of critical acclaim. did it seem weird with the blocking/camera to have them singing to each other? do you know what i mean when i ask that? stage - somehow makes sense. film - can be absurd sometimes. thjose of you who were there onset, what was it like?

The only singing I saw on the set was solo singing... so, I'll leave that question to somebody else.

I know what you mean CJR, the first time I watched the trailer I was all teary-eyed, and then when the rose was put on the grave..BOOM! I was sobbing..lol And, it's just the trailer! Let's imagine how we are going to be watching the actual movie! I'm going to need a friggin kleenex box!

I probably won't be able to see half the movie because I'll be crying so much. The first time I watched the trailer, the majority of it was just colored blurs, because my eyes were so full of tears.

Oh, and... I'm finally reading the whole thread. Somebody said Adam had better have taken some acting classes before this movie. Trust me - he's going to be just fine. I crack all of those jokes, but he can do this.

Doesn't she look absolutely friggin amazing! It makes sense she would actually be dressed like a stripper during her "Out Tonight" number at the Cat Scratch club because after all that's what she is...a stripper! I don't mind losing the blue vinyl pants in this scene. Her body is out of hand!!!

Okay, this is my opinion and it is a bit biased since I'm so excited about this I don't think anything could ruin it for me.

Okay, well firstly, I thought that it was perfect for a teaser, because it makes sense not to make it too dark and it should make people start thinking 'oh, I'd quite like to say that' and still satisfy all of us Rent fans.

And wow, Tracie Thoms rocks! Oh and also, I heart Jesse L. Martin. I just sat there in awe. The whole thing was stunning, and by the time Collins put the roses on Angel's casket I was just blubbing (and Angel taking off his wig was just stunning).

I, for one, think Rosario looks incredible and will be perfect as Mimi. I was a little confused by how much of April they put in though, since she's not even in the show.

Oh God, the whole thing was just fantastic and I was so excited I showed both my sisters, one of their boyfriends, my mum & dad and kept playing it anyway. In the end they made me get off the computer cause they were getting sick of listening to Seasons of Love (I don't see how anyone could).

A-MA-ZING! Just phenomenal. 100 times better then I ever could have imagined (Which is saying something because I had high hopes for the movie in the first place.) I never cry for movies, let alone trailers and this one had me in complete tears by the end. Seriously, I was just overwhelmed. Absolutely beautiful.

PS. I love all the new trailer avatars showing up! I'm completely computer-retarded so if anyone could maybe make me one....:-P (I'd love you forever!)
