I'm not going to say which is better because I've only seen the RENT trailer. It does look good, though.
I'm really looking foward to both. RENT I'm definately going to see. You can't beat the original cast! (And two new people
) The Producers I'm looking foward to because of Matthew!!
Right. It's too early to tell which will be "better".
I'm sure The Producer's trailer will be awesome.
Plus, "better" by who's standards? For example, I think a lot of older people would consider The Producers better than Rent. Many older people will remember when they saw The Producers on the screen for the 1st time. Also, everytime I've seen Rent I've witnessed older people leave during the intermission.

I'm truly excited for both. I'd make a point to see The Producers as quickly as possible, but that's just me.
The Producers to laugh.
Rent for the story, the music, the amazing voices, etc.
Big edge (for me, anyway) to Rent, but looking forward to both. Rent, though, is so high up on my list of must-sees that it almost isn't fair to compare the two.
The producers hands down its mel brooks!
The Producers is not as appealing to me personally but I think it will be the bigger critical and box office success.
Can't go wrong with Mel Brooks. I'm excited about The Producers.
does anyone know when the producers is actually coming out in theatres? is there a date?

I'm looking forward to seeing The Producers for Nathan and Matthew. I also think it will be interesting to see how Uma does. With that being said, I'm looking forward to seeing the RENT movie more. I'm very excited to see most of the OBC starring in the roles they originated.
I agree that The Producers will probably be a bigger critical and box office success. But, from what I've seen so far, the RENT movie looks like it could be absolutely stunning. I really can't wait to see it.
All I know is that I'm excited for both, but more for rent. I think that they will both be more finacially sucessful than PotO

lets hope that theyre better than poto too..
ferris bueller and lion king were the only great ones i ever remember him being in (off the top of my head)
The two projects are soo different! The only simalarity is they both take place in ny and they both were able to use original cast members.

After seeing the trailer for Rent I can only imagine that the PRODUCERS is easier to transfer to screen and therefore will be better. Also, Susan Stroman is a genius and she directed the show and probably has amazing ideas for the movie, whereas not sure what Columbus is doing. IMHO the trailer looked light hearted.

This is like comparing apples and kumquats, but I'll choose The Producers every time. It doesn't aim as high as Rent, but unlike the latter show, it hits its targets every single time and in style.
As people have said, you can't really compare the two. I'm excited for both, but probably more for The Producers - it depends upon what your personal preference is (mine being Mel Brooks - I've grown UP on his movies).
Both will most likely be amazing!
Matthew was great in Election. I'm looking forward to Rent more, but I hope The Producers is good. Looking forward to seeing what Uma does with her part.

I'm looking more forward to The Producers movie because I'am a HUGE Mel Brooks fan, I love his movies. Also, out of the four original cast memebers in the film, the only one that I saw in his original part was Gary Beach, so I am looking forward to see Nathan, Matthew, and Roger in the film.
I'm also looking forward to seeing Will Ferrell as Franz, I'm such a big fan of his, and I know he's going to be hysterical as Franz.
A little side note is that I used the original Producers movie for my film class final and got an A on it.

Me being a airhead groupie of Roger Bart, both production is Roger Bart related and so dear to me from different reason, either on stage or screen...even before seeing any bit of it. I am so easy to be pleased. I just cannot wait for both coming out!
I am more excited about seeing RENT, but the bottom line for me is that I am thrilled more Musicals are being made into movies.
two totally different animals, and in my opinion would be like comparing lemurs to yellowfin tuna.......you can't
For me RENT hands down! I've seen both shows and did not enjoy The Producers...but I'll still watch the movie b/c I am also curious about Uma.
Ha! Do I even have to say it? Rent (isn't it obvious)! But I do want to see The Producers. What can I say? I love musicals, especially when they're turned into movies, because then I can see them whenever I want on DVD. Elyse. No day but today.
