Any thoughts on Maggie? I was so impressed by Haven that I can't imagine Maggie is a step up from her, but you never know. I've read elsewhere that Maggie's acting is a bit over the top.
RTfan, This is a broadawy message board and this thread is about Rent. Please do not say anyting hurtful that has nothing to do with this thread.
Thank you.

The other night, I did not find Maggie Benjamin to be over the top. I had seen her years ago when she was still aredhead and while I miss a few vocal tidbits thats he no longer does and her old hairstyle, I wasn't the least bit displeased by her. The only issue I had with 'Maureen' was that her mic pack in Act One was flying all around and sagging that I found it disractinga nd was wonderingw hen it would fall off.
Christopher J Hanke, as I said, is much under appreciated and the reason to see this show again.
I know there's been recycling in RENT since it hit Broadway, but I remember the 2002 when Maggie Benjamin did her "last" Maureen. It was the big thing cuz she was going to move onto bigger and better things. Now, it's 4 years later and she's in her 3rd engagement at the Nederlander... She needs something new, bad.

Kevin, Maggie's been working steadily at other things, including a recent production of The 60's Project at Goodspeed. So, if she's between projects and is asked to return for a short run, should she turn down a steady job and excellent pay? Would you? She's returned a couple of times to fill in for leaves and vacations. It's common in long running shows to bring someone in who knows the role when they're just filling in for a short time. Same reason they've brought Mark Ford back now, too.

I believe Ava's last show was at the end of September. I don't know if Maggie came in right away, but it's been a couple weeks since Ava left.
Kevin, I saw Maggie's "last" show in RENT back in 2002 as well. I remember she was going to LA to try to get into comedy. She did move to LA and was (or is) part of an improv group there, but I can't remember the name of it.
