I know the show has only recently opened, and Bob Martin will likely remain with it for a healthy stay.
If we assume the show "takes off" enough beyond his contract and desire to stay with it, who could you see filling his (very unique) shoes?
The one that keeps coming to mind for me is Brent Carver. I think he'd be great as Man In Chair.
Any other thoughts?
And remember, it doesn't have to be someone known for musicals, since it's a non-singing, non-dancing part. It opens up a world of possibilities, including "star" casting, if they can and want to go that route.
Colin Mochrie
He IS the "Man in Chair."
Typecast, but Denis O'Hare.
FOAnatic---And he's also good friends with Bob!
I could really see Colin Mochrie. He'd be great.
Yes, I think he would be great as well.

From everything I've heard about the role, Colin Mochrie is perfect. However, I'd assume the producers may be a bit weary of him, because I can easily envision him taking the humor and going too far with it.
Charles Nelson Reilly.

I'm pretty sure it will be Colin Mocherie. He is friends with the creative team, and would be quite wonderful in the role. In fact when I first saw clips of Bob Martin in the role I thought instantly of Colin.

Patronus --- Talk about going too far with it!
The rest of the cast could just take the night off... and the pit orchestra too.
Patronus - YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!
But wouldn't it be a blast?
ooh, I agree, Munk.
Honestly, if Charlie Reilly could "rein it in" enough... he'd be a great choice.
And I'll bet he could bring in a big audience too.

I'm wondering who will replace Sutton. That's a tough act to follow.
She's got a different vibe than Sutton, but, after seeing the Wedding Singer, how about Amy Spanger? I'd pay to see her "Show Off".
For "Man in Chair" - Mark McKinney, formerly of Kids in the Hall.
At least, in my dreams.

He doesn't sing right? I'm sure they could probably get some big names in the chair if it wins the Tony.
Actually, Man in Chair does sing, but not until the final number, "I Do, I Do in the Sky."
