I love all the pictures! Thanks everyone!
I want to thank everyone for posting their thoughts on the closing show. While I could not have been there it feels as if i was with the love that everyone is declaring for this show. It is single handedly the best theatre going experiance I have had or ever will have. It was a once in a lifetime performance and I am honored that I saw it. Even if the show is never seen again with the likes of a cast like this it is most certainly a show that will never be forgotten. Long Live: PATTI LUPONE Gypsy

Being a part of the audience for the final performance really was so incredible for me. Although I'm so sad to see it go, I'm grateful for the five times I got to see it.
Ditto. Yesterday was my fifth time seeing this production (well, sixth, if you count CITY CENTER) and I'll miss it dearly. I realized yesterday I have also been fortunate enough to see this production from various vantage points (and each time, it was like a different show) but yesterday's show was a difinitive performance of a brilliant show and I will miss it very, very much. LuPone was better than I've ever seen her last night, Benanti was stunning, Gaines did NOT hold back, and everyone else just really gave the performance their all.
I distinctly remember seeing Mendes' production (three times) and thinking it was such a strong production (it was my first time being exposed to GYPSY) and then sitting down at City Center and being underwhelmed and then that night after the Tonys when I saw Patti's first performance since her win. That night will forever be ingrained in my mind. I thought Mendes' production was strong, I left the theater feeling blown away, this last production was brilliant and deserved the Tony for Best Revival. Just incredible...it will be missed.
Thank you to those who posted the pictures!
I echo all the sentiments about the final performance. If anyone is interested in reading my full review of the show, you can PM me because it’s way too long to copy and paste it all here.
Everything has pretty much already been said, but my favorite moments were:
• All the entrance applauses and how touched the actors were (and including when Boyd looked at his watch because it was so long, haha).
• Patti's classic one-liners, including "NO EGGROLL!" and "Hunny, UHH can I please have a spoon to stir the tea!?"
• At the end of “All I Need is the Girl,” I noticed Laura give Tony a big hug right before blackout.
• “Together Wherever We Go” – Patti seemed to be getting choked up in the beginning singing to Boyd and Laura, the plate blooper, all the silly dance moves they did… just seeing the three of them perform that song together for the last time was really special.
• The point during “The Strip” when Laura stopped because of all the applause and raised her arms in the air.
• The intense and emotional dressing room scenes.
• When Herbie leaves, Boyd sounded like he was crying or trying to hold back tears, which broke my heart.
• “Rose’s Turn.” And the long ovation after it.
• Curtain call.
All the tears, laughter, applause, roses… EVERYTHING was just perfect. Engaging in the audience’s energy and showing the actors our love and support was a experience I will never forget. You could tell that the actors were truly moved and grateful. The performances they gave were flawless. I feel honored to have been part of the final show.

One of my favorite bits in yesterday's performance was when, during "You'll Never Get Away from Me," when Boyd said the line, "Rose, I love you..." his voice broke. It was so clear all through the run, all the way back to City Center, how much love all of those cast members have for each other. Maybe that's what made this production so beautifully different.
I imagine that if the sets and costumes were being stored for any further life, it would be toward a West End run.
LuPone has been extremely vocal about wanting to take the show to London (a city she adores) ever since plans for the Broadway production were initially announced.
Although she is booked through the end of the summer with concert engagements, I wouldn't be surprised if she hopes to revisit the role of Rose across the pond early next year.
With regard to Patti LuPone touring with GYPSY, it would not be unprecedented. Ethel Merman toured the U.S. for 8 months immediately following the Broadway run of 702 performances. Its first stop was Rochester, NY where I ushered for the show as a student at the University of Rochester. I remember the scenery getting stuck at one point and the pit conductor, Milton Rosenstock, shouting directions to the stage hands.
Besides Patti who's doing her concert tour, does anyone know what's next for Boyd, Laura, Leigh Ann, and the rest of the cast?
The only person I talked to who gave a firm answer was Marilyn Caskey (Electra) who said she was going to play Madame Morrible in the Wicked national tour.
Laura said a few times that she had a few possibilities but didn't want to jinx them. She also said she was looking forward to getting some rest.
Leigh Ann has something in the works, but also doesn't want to jinx it.
Jim Bracchitta said he is going to do some voiceover work, but most importantly, he is going to spend time with his little kids.
Emma Rowley is going to be performing at Carnegie Hall in April.
I didn't ask Boyd.
Those are what I can remember.
Thank you for the responses!
Wow, I'm so happy for Marilyn! She'll make an awesome Morrible.
I'm very excited to see what Laura and Leigh Ann do next. I can't wait to see Boyd perform again too.
I believe Tony Yazbeck said he didn't know yet. It was hard to hear at the stage door though because I was in the back and it was loud.
It was very nice to see Jessica Rush there too. And she's, of course, going to be in Guys and Dolls.
Yes, I was so glad people other than myself recognized Jessica at the stage door. During the first act, she was right next to me, along with a few other members no longer in the show. Can't wait to see her in Guys and Dolls.

Angela Lansbury also toured extensively in GYPSY after the Broadway run. She did the Music Fair circuit and a few dinner theaters as well. Interestingly enough, she kept many of the revival cast with her.
I know its beyond unlikly but if it did tour because of the relationship between Patti, Laura and Boyd would they maybe tour together? Or is it just like the biggest dream in the world?
Hello. Does anyone have any stagedoor pics? Was there any sort of closing night party? Inquiring minds want to know. from RC in Austin, Texas...it's 43 F.
I didn't take any stage door pics, but there were definitely some. What immediately comes to mind is someone took a picture with Boyd, Leigh Ann posed for a picture wearing a scarf someone had made her, and I think Marilyn Caskey stopped for a picture as well. There were flashes going off, so maybe there were some candids, but not very many posed pictures that I can remember.
After they were finished signing, the cast headed into Angus McIndoe, where a few of their parties have been held.
I took a couple of pictures/videos at the stage door, but they came out horrible. I was in the back so it was hard to get a decent view. There are a couple that came out ok though.

I'm fairly certain that Boyd Gaines would join the cast if Patti decided to do a tour or maybe a sit-down in a big theater city. Remember, the reason he did this show was his working relationship with Patti in the ANYTHING GOES concert with Howard McGillan. Also, Patti and Boyd are both Juilliad grads.
I figured that maybe if Patti did that her beloved Boyd would join. I feel like Laura wouldn't only because she can continue to find work (not that patti and Boyd cannot but they seem to pick a choose moreso than she does)
where was your seats?i was in the balcony and yes tap she did give a speech no one else did after her last song she had an 8 min standing ovation
It was exactly a 5 minute standing ovation based on the audio which is very rare indeed!

Yeah it was around 5 minutes long, just seemed longer to most.
