Riedel is such a f*cking shill for Lloyd Webber.

Besides, if Lenk is going to do any production of a not very good musical with some worthy elements, it should be NEW GIRL IN TOWN at Encores! someday.

I wouldn’t mind a revival. I really like the dance part.

I love Lenk. But that’s a show thats survival (especially today) will depend on some major star power.

i kind of miss the old Riedel before he was buddies with all these high-powered people like Webber and Scott Rudin. He's always had acquaintances in high places and people who feed him gossip, but now he's becoming a mouthpiece for Broadway's elite (when he's not stirring up sh*t with Diana Rigg)

And in all honesty, if Webber wanted to mount a revival of Song and Dance, he has the money and clout to easily make it happen -- with Lenk, with Sara Barielles, or with someone plucked out of the chorus of a community theatre production of Cats.

Yeah, that’ll be a box office bonanza.

(And I love Lenk, and find her to have one of the most alluring and unique voices on Broadway.)

Lenk is one of few names I'll buy a ticket to see in anything.

I'm a huge ALW fan - but wouldn't really be interested in a revival of this.

If anything, especially post JCS Emmy on NBC - why not just do it as a TV special.  Would give the actress a break in the song cycle to have the commercials.  And you probably could get an actress like Bareiles to bring her star power for a night

Having sung one song does not a revival make.  It's just more Sir Lord Mr. Lloyd Webber's PR machine keeping his client's name in the news.  It's utter nonsense.

On TV? Middle America’s never heard of this show.

Forget Lenk, let's swap the gender, make him a gay man named Emmet and cast Ben Platt.

Does this show really have a market in today's theatre world. Not to mention its about a woman chasing after different men to 'complete' her life. I just dont see this working in this time period.

He is so slimy and just operates in a news cycle that has so outgrown him. She sang a song at a benefit FOR HIM and now suddenly a rumor is sparked? Stop trying to make it happen. It’s not going to happen.

Here's what probably happened:

Lenk sang a tune from Song & Dance at the gala. Riedel turned to the person sitting next to him, "Hey, ALW should revive this!" The person nodded just to be nice, and suddenly THERE'S TALK OF A REVIVAL!

Typical patriarchal mysgonistic gay community trying to remove women’s voices and replace them with men. #maleprivlege #womenrolesmatter #letwomenbeheard. Why is it that men always get the good roles like Fiyero in Wicked and women get nothing but Dolly Dot ClaireZ Rose Sally Lovett Elphaba Spiderwoman Anna Desiree Diana Annie Cellie Fosca. Stop the oppression. Now.

Yeah, STRONG women don’t want romance! Romance is a product of the Patriarchy! Romance just isn’t PC anymore!

Personally, I'd be more interested if the dance was dropped and they focused on turning Tell Me on a Sunday into a full-length piece using all the songs that have been written for it.

Hey, Ariana Grande is making an appearance in a televised concert and half of BWW has her cast in a movie that may be several years from production. This is how all talk gets started. It is important to remember that it is all just talk.

Since we're speculating with abandon anyways! I will say...

Perhaps there is SOME truth to Lenk working on an ALW something? I only say it because I wonder why she was one of the chosen performers for this evening of tribute to begin with. The other performers all have clear connections to him (save for Newell who was only added last minute when Heather Headley dropped out). Obviously it's not unbelievable that the powers that be wanted to book the most recent Tony winning best actress, but still feels very random to me.

A lot of ALW’s decision making is totally random. We are talking about a man, that during his drinking years would fire people in the morning and ask were they had gone after lunch, or give notes to the creative team based on things like ‘My wife gave tickets to her personal trainer and he thinks we should cut...’

These days however, he is desperate to be relevant. He very much jumps on board with whatever seems current. He presented an award at a British music award show, some years back and gushed and gushed about the talent of Amy Winehouse, in an uncomfortably transparent attempt to get  in her favour. Nicole Sherzinger, was another. Although that plan worked out well and she did work with him and was pretty wonderful.

There was the bizarre decision to cast a random school friend of Trevor Nunn’s son, in the role of Rum Tum Tugger, in the West End revival of ‘Cats’ without an audition (singing or dance!?) and then let this twenty something year old with no stage experience write his own rap because ALW has again become convinced that’s what would make the show current...

Or there’s his suggesting Patti Lupone for the role of Carlotta in the movie version of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ apparently forgetting she wanted to cut out his heart.

There’s deciding that ‘Cats’ on Broadway needed a hip hop choreographer.

There’s the nonsensical decision to get Jerry Mitchell to direct ‘Love Never Dies’ the man is extremely talented but that was always going to be a terrible match of director and material.

There are things like ‘this song doesn’t work...let’s chsnge the wigs’ or ‘I’m going to pick someone who has never ever written lyrics for a musical before, to collaborate with me’

This is not a man whom we can really try and apply logic too...
