That was a real snooze. Isn't it time to put Riedel out to pasture and encourage him to find a job where he provides something that someone actually wants?

Probably so he can position it as this season's underdog and try to take credit if it's successful. Riedel also likes taking shots at the shows/performances that are considered locks for awards -- see pretty much everything he's written on HAMILTON -- so it makes sense he would try to position Andy Karl as Ben Platt's "spoiler".

Sometimes, for a laugh, I go back and watch old TheaterTalk episodes on youtube where Riedel predicts the Tony Awards-- Out of dozens of predictions over the years, I think he's been correct twice... Can't they just make Jesse Green the full-time host and be done with it?
