I dont know why he keeps saying that the theatre was "gutted" and there are no seats. We've seen pics of it and the seats are still there and the only visible "gutting" was taking out the side boxes closest to the stage.

I'm the first to doubt Riedel, but in this case he's right - at least about the seats. There are no orchestra seats remaining that are not under the overhang of the mezz. They had to be removed to facilitate work overhead. This show is huge.
LOVE Jackie Hoffman!!

I actually walked by the theater with my friend yesterday, and the loading doors were wiiiiide open. Naturally we peeked in.
Very VERY cool looking stuff.
The first things I saw were the designs protruding from the proscenium arch. Kind of a web-like looking thing. Probably lights up. Also, the legs of the wings (and presumably the rest of the arches) are completely made up of LED lights. This show is gonna be friggin BRIGHT.
Also, not sure what they were exactly, but there were these little panel things painted on both sides. Looked kind of cheap if you ask me, so I'm not even sure if they're used in the show, but they looked pretty interesting to say the least!
My favorite part: A techie notices my friend and I gawking at the huge amount of technical work being done. Instead of shooing us away, he says "Spideyman. Openin' Christmas time."
This is the first thing I've read that kind of sorta makes me want to see this.
"Spideyman. Openin' Christmas time."
^ I love that!
Am I the only one who feels they should fear for their life from the description of all the flying into the audience? It only takes one person to get hit or kicked, even not seriously, to sue the producers.
I'm not just saying this either because it's Spiderman. If any show on Broadway had flying sequences that sounded like that, I think I would be a little scared.

I'm not in fear for my life, but I won't sit in the orchestra, either. From what I've seen, it looks like the mezz is the place to be for maximum effect. I think the "little panel things" KirbyCat mentions are Spiderman villains. GreenGoblin is house right. They do look cheesy. My guess is they're place-keepers for the real thing.
That would be interesting if the show finally opens and then closes because someone got kicked and they have to re-vamp the show.
Watch, the fangirls and boys will be all "OMG REEVE KICKED ME IN THE FACE!"
Sounds cool. I 'll probably see it for the spectacle. I'll wait until after it opens to buy a ticket. One of you can tell me the best place to sit.
"Hatred agrees with you." Jackie Hoffman is my hero. :)

It's bound to be quite the spectacle.
Jackie Hoffman and Riedel are two peas in a pod. Can't stand either of them. I guess you either love them or hate them.

Jackie may be a pea but Riedel is a pee-pee.
The production sound incredible, but it's Julie Taymor, whose all about "Go big or go home".
I f*ing adore you, Jackie Hoffman.
With all of those scenes in both acts, this is gunna be one long ride!
I cant wait to see it and i plan on paying full price too

^Now THIS is a show to check out in previews! Even with 16 weeks of rehearsal, seems this is going to need quite a bit of time to come together...

This is a show that is going to have a good number of cancelled or stopped halfway through previews.
Wow. The physical production sounds amazing.
If I manage to get an orchestra seat for this during previews, I think I might wear a helmet if you are indeed "part of the show." Call me paranoid, but that's just an untested wire stunt waiting to go wrong.
If nothing else, I'm excited for this because it's something fairly new to Broadway. Remember, we've only had one other major superhero musical, and it was a camp little thing that verged on parody, being from the Adam West Batman era as it was. We're not getting another disintegrating relationship, another coming-out story, or another jukebox musical or Broadway revue. Will this show be something good? I don't know. But it'll be something completely unique, and that alone is reason enough to look forward to it for me. Trying new things is sometimes just as good as perfecting old ones.
Plus, if it's bad, it'll be LEGENDARY.

But SERIOUSLY: How does Riedel have spies EVERYWHERE!?
I am sure this was a carefully placed spy with the new PR firm! They have to get a buzz started, a little money in the right places a little "Leaked Information" is exactly what is happening. Don't believe everything you read. Even Riedel.
