I didn't watch the whole of either Lin's or Weird Al's videos ('cause for me, "Hamilton" is very old news), but my initial thought was that both the LP and the CD versions are pretty handsome sets. There are some clunkier, junk items (like that poster), but overall, pretty nice.
The packaging itself is very much like Apple's products. Their design is purposefully crafted to give the user an "experience" - just by opening the product.
That price tag, though... >oof<.
As I watched the video, I kept thinking about toy collectors, and how an item only holds its value if the original box/packaging remains unopened. Every time Lin (and Weird Al, too) opened an item, I heard the "sad trombone" sfx from Antiques Roadshow, that's used when an item's value has dropped since the original quote... And I know these box sets are for collectors (as opposed to being collectables), but still... >sad trombone<
