Yeah, we were a fun bunch tonight (OMG it was TERRIFIC meeting a fellow redhead in you, too 'Jane2'). While I can't put my finger on the exact changes, it is a much tighter ship than last Friday night.
Actually, I take that back...there was one change I noticed - but I'm not sure if it will be considered a spoiler...
Spoke to Matt (one of the producers) tonight and they are all SO hyped for next week's opening (and I'm sure the cast is thrilled to have a day off tomorrow!!! A WELL DESERVED ONE at that).
There was one moment that really made me go AWWWWWWW tonight. During the curtain call / "Don't Stop Believin'", Constantine noticed a sweet little boy (8 years old - overheard his mom after the show) who had been rocking out the whole time. He grabbed the kid and held him up, almost on his shoulder as the cast sang - the boy was THRILLED!!! After the show, it was so sweet seeing everyone high-five the little boy (myself included) and tell him that *he* was the star of the show. He kept saying hiw totally cool it was. KUDOS to Constantine for, in a moment's decision, not only made a fan for life, but reaffirmed another strong generation of theater lovers and rock fans.
Well, I have to be up for work in about 6 hours...I'll try and write more from the office (oops, did I say that out loud? LOL) tomorrow.
With a lighter in my hand and a song in my heart...
Thanks, sweetie! And hey...since 'groupie' is the name the show producers gave groups buying 10 tickets are more, we can always use the term "band aid" (which also infers less salacious motives on our part).
the model in the video is pretty darn close to the real thing, some of the billboards are different thats the most noticeable difference. I really liked that the ambiance extends into the audience with concert posters plastered all over the walls around the orchestra.
Why? Because it is fun, not expensive (if you use the fan discount) and most of all, because these are songs that were popular back when I was in high school, when my life was simpler, when my biggest worry was trying to be Caller #10 to win Bon Jovi tickets...
In this day and age, we need escapism. Sometimes, the best escape isn't to a place you've never experienced, but ones you have and just bring familiarity and joy.
Lizzy-you aren't the first nor will you be the last person to see a show several times. There are people who see shows hundreds of times. I've seen shows multiple times too. We all have our reasons-No need to defend yourself!
Oh I didn't mean it rudely! I just don't think I could see the same show so many times with such little time in between. How much are tickets w/ the discount?
Rentboy, you might be flabbergasted but I saw every performance of Hedwig. Of course, I worked at the theater, but I could have seen it every night regardless! Not if I had to pay, of course!
