Weird Topic, I know.....but don't tell me you've never thought about it. Well, I've always been found of Eponine from Les Miserable, Petra from A Little Night Music and Millie from Throughly Modern Millie and Fraulin Schiender in Cabaret, Louise in Gypsy, Diana in A Chorus Line, Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart(she has better songs than Roxie, but I might could play Roxie better), Sarah in Ragtime(although I'd have to be black too).

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

Norma Desmond in "Sunset Blvd." Mother in "Ragtime" Judy Garland in "Boy From Oz" Fantine in "Les Miserables" Jane in "Jane Eyre" Eliza in "My Fair Lady" Glinda in "Wicked"
Eva Peron - Evita Elphaba - Wicked Witch - Into the Woods Rose - Gypsy Velma - Chicago Effie - Dreamgirls Grizabella - Cats Mrs. Lovett - Sweeney Todd Mother - Ragtime ti Moune - Once on this Island Eliza - My Fair lady Queenie - Wild party (La Chuisa) Kim - Miss Saigon Fanny - Funny Girl Adelaide - Guys & Dolls Norma Desmond - Sunset Blvd.
funny story - I was music directing Sweeney Todd in college and our mrs. Lovett was having vocal problems for the final dress. So, she got up and did the blocking while I was on her mike doing her songs/dialogue. Some of the lines came out like Bea Arthur. Funny but productive.

"This is what I trained to do, and this is what I love about theater. What I love about being an actress is being able to really look into myself and understand another human being. And out my own self, to shape and form and fashion a real human being--and to present that in such a way that people see something of themselves or their own understanding in that human being."

I love that you created this thread! Whenever I see a show with an amazing male role that I would want, I always tell my mom that I found yet another role that I would crave if I were a guy. Here are a few: Mother's Younger Brother (Ragtime) Beast (Beauty and the Beast) Valjean (Les Miz) Judas (Jesus Christ Superstar) Applegate (Damn Yankees) Chris (Miss Saigon) Don Quixote (Man of La Mancha)
Sweeney (Sweeney Todd...) Javert (Les Miserables) Bobby (Company) Albin (La Cage Aux Folles) Roger or Carmen (The Producers) Charlie Brown or Schroeder (YAGMCB) Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady)
