logan0215 - not all of the photos have champagne and tears, many could have been taken at a differennt time. I am just saying the photographer can not be in two places at once. We know the DVD being sold as "RENT - The Final Performance" was not all filmed at the final show.

The New York magazine photographer was NOT the one Patti objected to.
Got that, metoog?

I prefaced my message with "Not knowing much about her stopping the show or the situation of the photographer the day before..." (and I could care less).
I did not indicate in any statement of mine that it was the NY Magazine photographer. I simply stated that these photos could have been taken over a series of days even though the title says something different.

On top of which there are THREE photos that are actually taken on stage. They are all from the applause AFTER Rose's Turn as evidence by the fact that the entire audience is on their feet.
The "incident" happened within the first verse of the song on the day BEFORE the final show.

How to properly use its/it's:
Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

"I gotta say, seeing that look on Katie Micha's face broke my heart a little."
It broke my heart to see everyone crying at curtain call, especially the kids. I thought it was so sweet how Patti gathered all the kids in front of her and was hugging and kissing all of them. So cute!

I bought a copy of NY Mag today, and I'll try and scan the pics, but the picture of her stretching on her prison door is big enough that you can read some of what she wrote. and while "I broke my toe! I'm an Idiot!" brought the lulz, I also noticed that she wrote when each cast member left. the only one I can really make out is "RIP Mindy, we love you!" [which is followed by a "Welcome Emma!"], but I think that is incredibly sweet.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Ooooh I'll have to go out and buy the magazine.

What's written in pink on that backstage mirror?
-Was that a fart?
-My fault, I fear.

that picture isn't in the magazine! neither is the one of her rolling around on the floor of her dressing room.

A friend of mine in California e-mailed me to say he could pick me out of the crowd in that photo of the standing ovation. He got it right, too!

there was a pic in the contents section that's not in the slideshow, in case anyone was interested:

and here's the prison door pic, which I had to resize a bit. you can still read some of what she wrote:

That's as close as I'll ever get, so thanks for posting the photo :) (and thanks to the original poster for the link to the story.)

I saw that, too, PJ.
The one that made me sad, though, is at the bottom in blue:
It's getting sadder and sadder.
I cried myself to sleep last night.
I'll miss it and *everyone?* so much.
(my sentiments, too.)

I actually really like "Al Franken wins!" too.
and also "Let's Get This Done!"
I never would've thought Patti was into motivational phrases.

The terrific "Gypsy Kids" were so brave during the last performance. So many of them were singing or saying their lines through their tears - and nailing every single one of them, as usual. The adults were doing the same thing, but it was so impressive to see how professional those children are - already. Bravo to the entire ensemble! But a heartfelt extra "Bravo" to the kids. You're all first-class troupers!

OMG do you see what's written at the top of Patti's prison door? In green ink one day is designated as "Opening Night" and written beneath that, it looks like she's scrawled, "Stalker Go Home!" Sounds like there's quite a story there...!

LansburyLuPone,
I thought it said "Stalker Beware".
I can't tell, though.
Either way, it'd have a great story.
