Alright I am totally relying on this board to try and help me out a little in this department. I have already ruled out trying to get tickets to Wicked/Jersey Boys - I have deemed it impossible. So do you go know when the lottery times/rush begins for:

Spelling Bee?? or any other suggestions of what i should see. I am already going to get to the theatre at like 8 am to rush for Wedding Singer. Just not sure what other show is worth it.

I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity** Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer** Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!

Spelling Bee has a lotto that starts half an hour after Wicked. Many people who lose Wicked end up going over to Bee, but I've never had a problem with winning lotto. They sell standing room tickets when the show is completely sold out, but it hasn't been doing that lately. They wlil still have discount tickets at TKTS if it isn't completely sold out.

If you lose the Spelling Bee lottery, you should have time to get to Drowsy Chaperone for their lottery (sign up 90 minutes prior to curtain, drawing 60 minutes prior). If you lose that, you'll be right by the TKTS ticket booth anyway, so check out what's there.

i won spelling bee last time I went to the city, about 2 weeks ago and I was laughing hysterically the whole time. I might try for Avenue Q/Spamalot - is there a website with rush times/lottery. There are only 3 on Broadway I have not seen, I can't wait for the new season.

Thanks for the tip on Drowsy but I have tickets to see that third row on 13 August - this is what happens when you go to the city too much :)

There is an SRO Rush page and it lists it for each show

^ There's the direct link to that page. Definitely go through the whole thing--you might come across rush, lotto, or SRO policies you like for shows you wouldn't have remembered on your own.

Haha RentHead, I know how you feel. As of April, when I saw Threepenny, I have seen everything open on Broadway. But I started returning to see things again because I needed my fix. If you can't get Spamalot (or Ave. Q, which i don't recommend as I though it was tripe), see Bee again now that Barrett is in it. Depending on when you are going, you can try for Martin Short or Kiki and Herb since they are opening soon. I am going to the first Martin Short performance this Saturday at 2.

I'm going into the City on Tuesday to try lotto for "Drowsy" before I leave for Japan next week. This is the date that I'd have the better chance of getting tickets for, right?

Also, why does "Drowsy" have an 8 p.m. showtime on Tuesday nights when most other shows seem to have a show at 7 p.m.? If I don't win "Drowsy" lotto, I wanted to be able to go to TKTS and find something to see, but since they won't announce "Drowsy" winners UNTIL 7 p.m., I'd have no shot to get anything else. Does anybody know anything about this or have any information that might be useful?

I've wanted to see "Drowsy" for so long and nobody would go with me....now that I've FINALLY found somebody, it's almost time for me to leave the country for a year! *sighs forlornly*

Any help is much appreciated! Thank you! (Arigatou gozaimasu!!)

Hmm...I don't know the official reason why Drowsy's Tuesday show is at 8, but I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that it's shorter than most other shows (it's only 1hr, 45min and has no intermission). That's an unfortunate situation though, yeah.

Not all shows have a 7pm curtain on Tuesdays (RENT, Avenue Q). The 7pm curtain is fairly new, and is an attempt (or was initially) to get families to the theatre during the week.

SDav 10495--That makes sense! I had forgotten about that part, actually...

Fosse76--Is it only Tuesdays that this phenomenon occurs, then? I usually take the train into the City on a Wednesday or Saturday so that I can see two shows [I live in PA and until very recently, attended uni in Florida, so that was the way to do it!].

I've actually never done a NYC rush or lotto before, because I've always had tickets, but this time is different due to circumstances, etc. I'm really hoping that no one shows up for tickets that night...I hear that "Drowsy" is one of the easier lottos b/c there are usually a lot of tickets, but I never have good luck! I want to see Sutton again so very much~~and this is my last chance! I WOULD pick the one night that times are different, though, wouldn't I? *mutters and kicks self*

Oh well. C'est la vie and all that razzamatazz, ne?

I might be in the city next weekend and my friend and I would like to go see Spamalot.

I've never actually had to go to the TKTS booth -- does anyone know offhand if they ever have Spamalot tickets there and about how much they usually run???

Also... if that doesn't work out, we were going to try to get SRO tickets for the show -- how has that been lately? Is the show still selling out and can you actually purchase the SRO tickets? Or are they really difficult to come by?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm trying to plan ahead!

Thanks!

You won't see Spamalot on TKTS and it has been selling out most of the time, attendance has been in the high 90s. Just get to the box office when it opens and you should be fine getting SRO.

Thank you for the info! That'll save me time not having to go stand in line at TKTS.
