Watching The King and I this evening, I couldn’t help but think how happy she must’ve been during that production compared to the sorrow that would come later. Just seeing this now brought me happiness, not that it will erase her sorrow, but, yes, Hope...

The production of this showing on BroadwayHD is a London performance that occurred after that horrible accident.  You can see Ruthie using a cane since she was still recovering.  I’m so very happy for her recovery and for her newly born daughter!  Hope is the perfect name!

Okay, this makes sense. I couldn’t recall her character using a cane when I saw it on Broadway and I did sense a sadness in her portrayal I hadn’t noticed on Broadway. I wish her and her husband all the blessings.

There is absolute resilience in this couple and I respect and admire them for that.  I can't imagine what the last two years have been like for them, and it's astonishing that they have persevered with a family so quickly.  They are very strong, very good people.

No one ever talks about how brilliant she was on The Americans.
