If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Really looking forward to this tonight. I enjoyed the show off Broadway very much...and who doesn't love Kander & Ebb?

I agree with WithoutATrace. This was easily one of the best shows off-Broadway last year. The music is fantastic, and I found some of the staging to be ingenious. I am actually worried about seeing it now because of the revisions. I thought it was close to perfect the way it was. Sadly I am not seeing it tonight, but hope to see it soon!

I'm going Sunday and am looking forward to the emotion once more. My only reservation is my $19.31 balcony seat. Looks like tickets will be available on TDF though in the event that the balcony is too high to enjoy the show as much as I did downtown. It's nice to hear from you again WAT, seems like you've been gone for a while.

I'll be there tonight and I'm so excited. I've never seen a first preview before and I have a great seat! I'll be sure to stop by and post thoughts after (never saw it Off-Broadway, so I'm a newbie!)

I don't know about crying. Maybe being unable to move out of your seat for a good five minutes is more probable. At least, it was for me.
I'm seeing 'Scottsboro Boys' Saturday afternoon, since my schedule didn't permit me to go tonight or tomorrow night. Really looking forward to it and what they've done to it since the Vineyard.

This show was brilliant off Broadway and I hear it's only gotten better. Can't wait to hear what people think of tonight's performance!

It'll be nice to get the CD in the lobby too, seeing that they sell them. I'm sure they will. It's a good way to make some money.

The whole team is phenomenal and I wish them all the best. Saw the show a number of times at the Guthrie and I think it's really come a long way.

We see it this weekend & are looking forward to it.

Hopefully we will someday be able to see The Visit on or off Broadway & Skin of Our Teeth.

I wonder if Kander will continue writing.

He really ought to. I mean, yes he's 83, but he seems quite healthy and fit to be writing. I thought I read in an interview that he was working on a series of chamber musicals with a young lyricist.

Show was excellent...still in amazing shape. Love the choreography and the score (even better hearing it the second time). VERY enthusiastic audience, as expected. Really a wonderful show that I hope gets the rave reviews it deserves.

No cast recording or windowcard yet...

How were the changes and the new cast members?

I didn't really notice any significant changes. The new leading man was excellent. A commanding presence, excellent singer, great actor. The entire ensemble should be very proud...and the show had a great feel to it from the second row mezz. Instant standing ovation when it was over.

Wow. What an incredible show. I loved it. It really challenged me and now I want to see it again to tie it all together in my mind. The score was excellent and had a great Kander and Ebb feel. Every performance was wonderful and it's hard to single anyone out because they were all so fantastic. Mezz is a great place to sit for the show, if anyone hasn't bought tickets yet. And yes, the choreography, as mentioned above was great! Go see it!

Still loved the show, as I did Off-Broadway.

I missed Brandon Victor Dixon a lot. Joshua Henry is great, and the show feels more of an ensemble effort, yet I missed Dixon's breakout performance.

Ms. Stroman made the staging work beautifully for the Lyceum, and I never once thought that the show was swallowed in a bigger space.

I strongly hope that it will be the little show that could of the fall, and have a successful run. It certainly deserves to.

It was such a fantastic night!!! As WAT said, very enthusiastic audience, all the actors were at the top of thier games. Things were noticably tighter, pacing was better, spacing was improved, and the music direction was lovely! Josh Henry was fantastic, though I miss Dixon a bit, but I LOVED what Henry brought to the role. I was just as devasted at the final 10 minutes than I was the first time at the Vineyard, if not moreso!!! I just hope it can find an audience, because the show is too good to be missed.

Please go see this show!!!

Didn't love it.
Didn't hate it.
A bit too long to not have an intermission.
Terrific dance numbers
Good performances all around.
But not palatable (I was expecting a bit more of an emotional vs comical reward)
Felt a bit too much like Ragtime meets Parade meets Crucible.
Liked the tap number. And final scene.
