Hi, I am seeing Wicked in a few days and I would like to go to the stagedoor after and meet SHOSHANA BEAN. Is she nice? And does she take pics? Thanks!

Posted: 8/8/05 at 2:39pmI've found that she's much more pleasant following an evening show. I met her once after a matinee and she was very rushed, distant, and seemed a bit annoyed at times. But like I said, if you catch her after an evening performance, you should be fine.

Either you do see her, or ya don't.
Either way, Megan Hilty rocks my world.

Posted: 8/8/05 at 3:16pmShe's really nice after a show, though I absolutely hate her before a show, shes such a wicked woman. This has been discussed on another thread, "Nicest Actors", and you can read about my fight there. I love MEGAN!

BEFORE the show??? I don't think I'd be too chatty if I was getting ready to perform 3 b*ll-busting numbers in a multi-million dollar Broadway musical. Maybe some people would be, but perhaps she wants to focus on trying to make 1,400 people happy, not just 1.
Sorry, but I think any actor who doesn't want to talk before a show should be cut some slack.

Posted: 8/8/05 at 3:33pmI have seen wicked twice one with Stephanie J Block who was Amazing and made Elphi her own and the other time with Idina Menzel. I came all the way form the U.K and was so excited to see wicked with Idina. When I went to the stage door and I found her not as nice as I had hoped she seemed as if she wanted to get away. It must be so hard do show after show but we are the people that are buying her records and spending over $100 to go watch her. I was disappointed with her performance as well she was good but Stephanie J Block put much more energy into her performance. Some times I think these people read what’s wrote about then and believe it a little too much.

Posted: 8/8/05 at 4:59pmThat's nice you wrote about Idina but the original poster was asking about Shoshana. Sho did seem rushed and not too pleasant after a matinee. She didn't take any pics when I was at the stage door. But Megan was incredibly nice and took a pic with me. I really enjoyed her in the show, although I do miss JLT.

All I gotta say is Idina got her pretty ass out of the car to finish signing and in her last week stayed for at least 15/20 mins to sign for everyone.
If that ain't nice, I dunno what is.

Posted: 8/8/05 at 5:08pmMost actors I have met are very gracious at the stage door. If they aren't, give them a break. They probably have other things on their mind.

Posted: 8/8/05 at 5:14pmI'd like to see in their contract where it says they have to go out and greet the public. It's great if they want to do it, but most actors who have physically / vocally demanding parts are being prudent to speak very little when they are not performing and to conserve their energy to be able to perform for the paying public. Conserving their energy / voice might come across as being less than kind at the stage door. And after a matinee when they have another performance in a few hours . . . I think I might want to run back to my apartment quickly and have a cup of hot tea or soak in a hot tub before I have to get strapped into a cherry picker and get hoisted 30 feet in the air while I'm screaming out a high F.

Posted: 8/8/05 at 5:16pmI just saw Wicked on last Tuesday and she refused to take a picture with us but she did sign autographs. It may depend on if she is having a good day opr not but she does not take pictures! I sware you can snap one of her when shes not looking, but she will not take one with you. Now Megan Hilty is the best! She takes pictures and sings autographs! But anyways enjoy the show it is awesome!!!

If they cant handle, dont accept the role. It doesnt matter if she played mamma rose she should give em the same respect i give her.

Posted: 8/8/05 at 5:22pmhmm . . . how many people that you don't know want to talk to you and are asking to have their picture taken with you and want your autograph? Eight times per week, that is.

It's a known fact that..
Trying to meet an actor before the show is a VERY bad idea.
