I'd truly like to believe ALL off-Broadway shows will be unaffected, but can you supply any source confirming this? What about the big guys at New World Stages, Playwrights Horizons, 59E59, 2nd Stage?

What was this last statement that you refer to by Nederlander...? There has been so much flip-flopping concerning their stance and the union's position regarding their theatres that it seems far from certain that Nederlander theatres will not be shut as well. You left The Little Mermaid off of your list by the way...

If this be the case, I'm up s____'s creek as far as Broadway goes because either I've seen them or don't want to. Well, at least Xanadu is there to comfort me.

This was the last word from the Nederlander Org

Of course, saying they won't impose the contract on their stage-hands doesn't necessarily mean they won't NOT come to work.
So many people are in a "no comment" mode right now.
That's the best answer I have for you right now.

Wait, isn't CYRANO de BERGERAC staying open? I mean, the Rodgers is owned & operated by the Nederlanders, right?

Off-Broadway shows operate under various different contracts with the union than the League does and unlike the League's contract -- the Standard Production Contract -- the ones with the off-Broadway theaters are currently valid and unexpired (the union's agreement with most Broadway theaters expired a few months ago), so it actually would be illegal for the union to strike those off-Broadway theaters. That's why there's no strike for off-Broadway, as well as for the not-for-profit Broadway houses (that work under a still valid LORT contract with the union) and those handful of independent theaters (New Amsterdam, Circle in the Square, Helen Hayes) who are unaffiliated with the Shuberts, Jujamcyn or the Nederlanders and have their own separate agreements with the union that are still valid and unexpired.

That's over a month old. The Nederlanders have said they will stand by the League, and if Local 1 strikes they will lock them out. Also, I am not sure, but shows that are produced by members of the League and not in a League house would probably be affected as well, which would take care of many of the remaining shows. Also, IATSE is considering asking all stagehands nationwide to strike as well, which would shut down everything.

"Curtains" will close, right??

It would cancel shows not close. I think Curtains is financially healthy enough to last for a while, some shows like Drowsy may not re-open though.

Read the list before posting.
If the show ain't on the list, it ain't opening.
Though I'm still surprised LCT hasn't submitted info.

actually many of them will not cancel but will indeed close. producers still have to pay their actors, etc, and those productions which don't have enough of a fund stashed away for emergencies (all shows are required to have emergency funds) will likely close.

Do any of you know if Radio City Music Hall and The WAMU Theatre at Madison Square Garden would be affected by a strike?

I seriously doubt ANY IATSE workers will be working.
And if there are picketlines at any of those unleagued theatres, other Unions will not cross them.
There's Safety in Numbers, that's what they say.
This STRIKE has to be handled very carefully, let's hope for a quick cure.

Why, according to this list, http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.jsp?stid=1&aid=75484, does it look like SPRING AWAKENING is not affected? Isn't the Eugene O'Neill a Jujamcyn theatre the same as CURTAINS, JERSEY BOYS & THE GRINCH, which all will strike?

Who knew I may have seen the last performance of Drowsy Chaperone tonight? This kills me.
