If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times; Helen from WORD OF MOUTH annoys the crap out of me.
Thanks smaxie... still weird to open on a Sunday in my opinion.
Next to Thursday night openings, Sunday nights are the most popular night of the week for an opening.
So I've been really pleased with the reviews so far, and I'm happy that they all say something nice about Sutton Foster. But I'm worried. I'm really getting worried about Broadway.
Shrek will be able to stay open, right? What worries me is when even Patti LuPone can't keep a show open! How does LuPone Gyspy close early? God, PLEASE let Shrek stay open!
This is getting scary now. It's becoming too real.
maybe... I would have said most shows opened on Thursdays but I never realized Sunday was so popular - looked up some past and future and would def agree that Thur is number 1 and Sun is 2.
yes yes yes!!! come on, Shrek, come on! I'm rooting for ya!
Shrek will stay open on name alone. The fact that it could be a good show is just gravy.
totally rooting for this show...
i saw the second preview and enjoyed it lots
Sutton is amazing in it... best she has done since millie
nice to read positive reviews. I hope the cast is having a fun night right now and wishing them well. cant wait to see it on Feb 4th, 2009 @ 8pm. My guess Leah will be going on as young Fiona tonight.
I'm thinking of sending WBAF a chocolate hat ala LuPone.

WiCkEDrOcKS, Word of Mouth in general annoys the crap out of me.
All right, looks like we're off to a good start, review wise. Keep 'em comin'.
USA Today is positive. Actually it's a RAVE review.
On Broadway, 'Shrek the Musical' is a gas, gas, gas

TimeSquare3, I wish the show the best. I just wasn't impressed by it.
The cast is a terrific bunch. It's no secret on this board that I adore Sutton Foster. I just wasn't impressed with what the creative team did (or didn't do) to cultivate the material into a Broadway musical.
Wow! Three and a half out of four? Things are lookin' up in Duloc!
And, TimeSquare3, you joined here a week ago, and all you do is promote SHREK.
I find that curious.
I take it as the girls voicing the dragon aren't visible.
No I am not a shill WBAF.
I gotta say (and again, I haven't seen the show...I'm going on January 9th) that dragon design kinda looks cool. I thought it was supposed to be terrible...
Agreed.
I remember hearing a lot of bad things about the design and the look. From where I sit, that's a pretty awesome! I have a good 24 days before I see it for myself, but hey, I like what I see... Come'on positive notices!
There have been 3 dragons. The ****ty purple one from Seattle, this one, & a new one (that I haven't seen) which was put in during the canceled performance.
That is not the one you will see now in the show.
TimeSquare3, you sure know a lot about the show and the details of its various incarnations for someone who isn't directly associated with it.
Well I saw a video of the Seattle one, this one in WoM & the commercial, & I made a comment on Youtube that someone replyed to saying the the commercial was filmed on Nov. 27 before the canceled performance & new dragon went in.
