In terms of theatres, the Hirshfeld is currently being rumored, right?

sweet!!! i heard this was horrible in London so i cannot wait to see it here!
A very enjoyable show I thought. I was thinking the Marquis would be the right size theatre. The Palladium was too big.
Yeah, it's a great fun show. Assuming Patina Miller comes with it I really think it will be a hit on Broadway.
I thought this was already confirmed.
So two new Menken shows next season!
Next year is shaping up to be very very busy.

Anneliese van der Pol as Sister Mary Robert please!
"So two new Menken shows next season!"
What's the other one?
Angela Lansbury for Mother Superior & Jack Hoffman for Mary Lazarus?
Can't wait Alan Menken is one of my favorite composers!!

Sister Mary Robert should be Kate Wetherhead
I hope they make some changes before it comes to Broadway... saw it in London and something about the book/music was lacking. I found myself looking at my watch, which rarely happens.
The set, costumes, lighting, choreography, etc were all amazing, though.
Marquis or Hirschfeld would be my choice for this theater. The Hirschfeld is off the beaten path though. How about Elaine Stritch as Mother Superior and Jackie Hoffman as Mary Lazarus? I know this probably can't happen, but I would love to see Laura Benanti play Mary Robert. She played the timid back row character so well in Gypsy!
I imagine Patina will take the role if she's offered as she got so much praise for the role in London. I'd like to see Tory Ross play LaRosa and maybe understudy Mary Patrick.
I haven't been so excited for a show like I am for SISTER ACT in so long!
I really hope this is a hit. And it'd be great if it was actually a good show too. I love the London Recording!
I do think that considering Miller is most likely over there on an equity exchange, that they would have her do the role in New York City. It just makes sense that they would at least ask her first and I would guess that she would say yes considering it's opening up a major show on Broadway as the lead.
I would think that the Marquis is a good home for this show. But then again, rumor has it that Priscilla is set to go there after its North American debut in Toronto. But The Hirschfeld could also be a theatre I can see it doing well in.
I don't think I ever heard that it was "horrible". Everything I read was mostly positive, which is why I saw it. It wasn't the best show I've seen, but it was far from horrible. I'd say it still needs work and they can definitely get rid of the useless giant cheese wheel, which is probably the most expensive part of the set. I've seen horrible shows in London and this wasn't one of them.
IMO, I think who ever loses the Best New Musical Tony will likely close by the end of the year(if not sooner). This possible will leave the 3 out of the four theaters open by the spring: St. James, Shubert, O'Neal & Nederlander. However, the Nederlander is likely to small for Sister Act and would love it go into the Shubert(if Memphis is gone).
I haven't seen it, but, if they're looking for a star performer, is this something in which Fantasia might be good?
I would love to see that logo take over Shubert Alley!
Yay! I'm not necessarily a huge fan of the show, but it is the most excited I've been since '08-'09 season...ouch!
I don't necessarily care if Patina comes over here or not, nor do I think most people would...however I wouldn't be surprised, didn't she get nominated for an Olivier? I could just see them casting a celebrity in that role and getting a much bigger audience.
Also...the equity exchange could very well be for one of the stars in LoVE NeVER DiES. Slater is the lyricist for both, so it could be to fulfill the impending exchange with that one. (Remember the Palladium is a Lloyd Webber house, so he very well could have worked this out with Slater) Trevor Nunn was still paying for the Woman in White equity exchange with Gone with the Wind when he cast Jill Paice (ironically again) as Scarlett!
Great news. I saw the show in August of last year in London and really enjoyed it - a lot of fun.
I can't imagine anyone but Patina Miller opening the show on Broadway, she sounds like a true star on the recording. Can't wait to see who else they get to play the other roles though, especially the Mother Superior and Mary Roberts.
