What's a "Playbill Cover Model"?
Riedel is so gay...

Lol, I was wondering the same thing...

Seriously? "Rushed to the hospital?"
She completed the second performance 2 days after the accident. Doesn't really sound like a rush to me.
Didn't Natasha go ski-ing 2 days after her accident?

Wow, curtainpulldowner, that gave me a chill.
Yeah. Talk about a (CurtainPull)downer!

No, she didn't go skiing two days after her accident. She died a few hours after her accident.
But I know some of you ghouls are indulging in some Freudian wish fulfilment and hoping somebody is killed during Spider-Man. I'm not sure why, exactly, maybe so you can burn Julie Taymor at the stake?
PROSECUTOR: So, please elucidate for the court, if you would, exactly why you burned Ms. Taymor at the stake.
BROADWAYWORLD.COMMESSAGEBOARD: Well... FindingNamo said the actor was killed because of our Froidean wish fulfillment, which we didn't know was possible. But after he mentioned it, it got all our brains working, and -- boy, oh, boy -- did it ever work!
JUDGE: You are hereby sentenced to post on that board forever.
BROADWAYWORLD.COMMESSAGEBOARD: Hooray!
Gothampc, you are so right. I don't know why she ever left Hotel Babylon. It wasn't until, like, five minutes ago that I saw a picture of her and googled her, realizing where she looked familiar. Once I can identify a person from before, I immediately feel ten times more sympathy for them. Poor girl.
I personally hope it closes FOR the safety of the actors. If they are continuing to get injured, what to say something worse won't happen. She's blessed not to have the rope wrapped about her neck.

At least as far as you know, perfect liar.
"She's blessed not to have the rope wrapped about her neck."
Another fantasy. She got hit in the head by a rope. It didn't come magically alive, make itself into a noose, slip around her neck and hang her because life is not a Final Destination movie.
They're very smart for saying it was a "rope" and not a wire.

Edna Turnblad, I'm sure she left Hotel Babylon because that was just a soap and she probably wanted to do more singing. But she was great on that show. And I hate what they wrote for her exit from the show.
Very nice point, ALP. Nice diction on their part.
So Taymore and Cohl let her perform on Wednesday even after her doctor told her she shouldn't. Couldn't they tell her that she could not go on even if she insisted? if I were them and knew and actor was under doctor's orders not to perform, I would refuse to let them go on. Especially after the first two accidents.

While I'm not sure what to make of this, I think one thing is clear. If there is another accident that is at all serious, the press and union pressure will be even more intense, and they won't be able to focus on fixing the show for the opening. I hope no one else gets hurt.

The second update says she performed Tuesday, I am assuming they mean Wednesday? I didn't think there was a preview on Tuesday.

I'm not really sure exactly what was meant by this, but it seems . . . wrong.

I have a feeling that Mendoza was allowed to perform on Wednesday Night because the understudy wasn't ready to go on, and Taymor didn't want to give up rehearsal time to prepare the understudy.
What was the major incident that happened during Saturday Night Fever?
What's the UK Fame story?
My favorite line from the recent Riedel post : "The actors should fly a lot more," says a playwright, "preferably in the nude."
Hmm, the thought of understudy Matthew James Thomas naked and flying around the theatre............now I would buy a ticket for that.
