Performances resume tonight at the St. James - you only have until September 4th to catch the Boss live on Broadway.

Bruce returns from a one-month hiatus in which he went to the Tokyo Olympics to support his daughter; congratulations to Jessica for taking home a silver medal for the USA in equestrian team jumping!

Oh look, a bibu!

I had no idea, that's an amazing accomplishment.

See this show if you can, guys! It's truly sensational!

As was mentioned in a number of media reports,  Bruce and Patti did NOT go to Tokyo:

https://www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/31979341/jessica-springsteen-us-equestrian-team-win-silver-medal-sweden  "Springsteen said after Friday's qualifying round that her parents have been watching from home, as athletes weren't allowed to bring family to Japan amid the coronavirus pandemic."

"The 29-year-old Springsteen said she called her family after medaling alongside her teammates Laura Kraut and McLain Ward.

“I FaceTimed them really quick. They were all screaming, I don’t think we understood anything," she said.
“Just saw their team USA gear; there was just lots of shouting. I couldn’t make a lot out but I know that they’re so excited."

Last night for The Boss.  Bruce sniffled on first night and again last night.  Said "you guys give me purpose."

Patty did the duet but didn't come out for final curtain. His curtain time was very short with no handshakes. Came out the stage door almost immediately. I just got out of theater and security said he was gone.   Audience was rather reserved compared to some earlier in the run.

Looking forward to seeing the last show tonight. An usher said he plans another Broadway show "but not at the St James."  Thank God for that.  Hopefully Schubert if for no other reason than to dump Seat Geek and Jujam's awful refund/exchange customer DIS-service.  Perhaps there should be a thread on just that alone.

At least Ticketmaster doesn’t lie about who they are. They’re unapologetically mercenary. But Seat Geek? Seat Geek is duplicitous and just absolutely skeevy. Let me tell you, I can’t abide Ticketmaster. But Seat Geek makes Ticketmaster look … ethical.

Last show was a trip. Seems the Springsteen audience picked up the airline brawl technique.

Folks in first row got into slapping fight in first 5 mins under Bruce's oblivious nose. Both couples met with police/security in lobby but moved to the outer lobby after complaints their conversations seeped thru orch doors.  Brawlers returned but in different  seating areas.

Alot of late drunks climbed over seated folks..  Ushers ran a marathon up/down the aisles being phone police. Mask adherence was ignored.  Younger folks, apparently not Boss fanatics, soon took to phone texts or scrolling thru multiple pages. Adopting Yondr like Freestyle did would've helped.

After an hour, the bathroom trek resembled a wagon train with the constant flow of folks going to lobby, some folks multiple times. That activity occurred more than in previous shows I attended. At one show I attended, he ran 2/40.  Was on a roll. Too long (2h 20m) without break.

Usher said they had to repeatedly stop the sing-alongs. Found that surprising considering Bruce told  the audience at Kerr not to sing along when they started. Guess he mellowed on that front.

At the end and as usual, folks ran to stage for a hand shake w/B, but security intervened. Was surprised security didn't station themselves down there during last 2 minutes because they had to push themselves thru crowd. Perhaps it would've blocked the view for some had they done so.  No touching was the rule.

Meanwhile the pre and post show stage door folks refused to believe he'd end the run without giving a/graphs or selfies despite being told he wouldn't because of theater policy.  Apparently he obliged folks in Chelsea area where he stayed.

Live Nation, Ticketmaster's parent company,  handled merch. So seat-geek and TM were nightmares providing tkts and over-priced stuff.

Sadly, all the chaos and disruption kind of diminished the fun on the last night.  Hope the Boss returns without the lunatics.
