A "straight" actor who's "brave" enough to dress up as a woman?

Please. Praise abounds.

He deserved it, he was wonderful. I saw the film six times and each sold out audience loved him, with applause during his dance finale and credit. No wonder at all.

IMO...Travolta was awful...disturbing make-up made him look like a cabbage patch doll and what's with the accent? His portrayel lacked the raw, edgy "BIG WOMAN" EDNA that Divne & Harvey brought to life. IMO, his choices were all wrong, and it showed.
Harvey's EDNA is forever stamped in my memory. I think the Globes were looking for names to fill that catagory...IMO.

Both times I saw it the audience couldn't stop complaining about how weird he looked afterwards.

Well said.

SPRIDEON AGLICKENING!

Isn't that what you get when you've drunken a bit too much Drano?

Ugh, the Globes do this almost every year: They confuse musical with film with music. "La Vie En Rose"(Marion Cotillard is nominated, as she should be) is neither a comedy or a musical, but rather a film with music. They did it with "Ray" and with "Walk the Line" and it bothers me every year because the real musicals and comedies usually don't stand a chance against them.

I still say Travolta's Edna resembles a Ron Mueck creation.

awwwww....that sucks. I was hoping "Come So Far..." would get a nomination. Whenever I listen to that song in the morning, I know that I'm going to have a good day. :)

As with the oscars, it is now time to eliminate this category and just give a special award to one song.

A shame about "Come so Far", terrifc song being left out...

ENCHANTED should have been nominated over HAIRSPRAY or ACROSS THE WORLD.
Good for Anna Friel and Lee Pace! Though Jane Krakowski and Kristin Chenoweth both deserved nods in the Supporting Actress category.

Was so glad "Across The Universe" won the Golden Globe Nomination for Best Picture! Thought it was the most creative film this year. Lots of Broadway people involves, besides director Julie Taymor, the cast included Orfeh, Carol Woods, Lawrence Leritz, Sam Kitchin and many singers and dancers. Deserves Art Direction & Cinematography Noms at The Academy Awards.
