I was at the show last night. He was actually much better than I anticipated. I'm really not a Bob Saget fan - and I was really angry that they were putting him in this show.
I'd say for his very first performance, he did really well. He changed up a few of the lines - got a little tongue tied - but overall, I think he did a great job.
The general consensus from everyone leaving the theatre last night (cast/crew included) seemed to be that he did fantastically - especially for the first night.

Posted: 10/20/07 at 11:20amGood- I'm not really a Saget fan, though I was a Full House fan for many years. I was shocked when I hear he would be the MIC. I personally don't think that anyone can beat Bob Martin, but I'm glad Saget didn't totally bomb.

I saw the show last night and thought he did a great job. He still seems to be getting use to the role but there wasn't any noticeable mistakes.
How long will he be in the show for?

Posted: 10/21/07 at 10:36pmI was there Friday night as well, and have to agree with to wherever. Besides getting a little tongue-tied, he was very good. I thought the whole cast gave a wonderful performance overall! I had never seen the show before, and neither had my parents, and we all enjoyed it - it was one that we could all really enjoy together!

Posted: 10/21/07 at 10:42pmGlad to hear he was good... I really couldn't see why everyone was so up in arms about him playing MIC, but today I was watching the episode of Entourage where he was a guest-star (205, I think...), and then I thought "This guy, Man in Chair, REALLY?" but I digress, glad to hear he was good, anyway...

Posted: 10/22/07 at 12:09amMy thoughts about Bob Saget are that a) he's best when he's not the center of attention - he's great when you glance over at him from the main action and b) you don't really believe that he loves the show within the show. I think he needs to give it about 20% more acting and 20% less Bob Saget. But he's close.

Posted: 10/22/07 at 2:15amI saw him tonight and thought he was great. Somebody threw up before the show and when the lights came on for the show he was like "Are you feeling sick?"

Posted: 10/22/07 at 2:37amWell I have seen Bob Martin, Jonathan Crombie, Jonathan Glover (Lionel Luthor, Smallville) and Now Bob Saget (Full House, Americas funniest videos) all as the Man in the Chair, they have all brought own personalities to the character, grant it Bob Martin created it but over all they each bring him to light in a different way.

Jonathan Crombie needs no parenthetical introduction but Tony award winning John Glover does?

Actually, he said "How are you all doing today? Feeling nauseous?"
It probably should have been nauseated, but it was hilarious anyway.

I saw him again in the Sunday matinee -- he already seemed to be more comfortable in the role.
Unfortunately, Beth Leavel was out and she really just makes the show for me.

I liked the Chaperone understudy, though I felt she wasn't nearly drunk enough.
Danny Burstein gives possibly my favorite performance by anybody in any show I've ever seen ever, and that's not even an exaggeration.

Posted: 10/22/07 at 9:36amI was at the Saturday matinee, and ADORED every second of Saget's performance. He seemed a little nervous, but really nailed the part.
