Sarah is a goddess.
Sarah is a mermaid wannabe.
I don't like Sarah onstage, but her solo stuff are just amazing! I think she should stay on her solo stuff.
I once read an old review of POTO in which the critic likened her voice to Minnie Mouse. Ever since, whenever I hear her sing, I can't help but think of dear old Minnie. It really does sound like her.
Sarah Brightman is a trained dancer. She was the original Sillabub in CATS. And when she did Christine in Phantom, she danced the whole "Hannibal" Ballett and "Masquerade" was more dancing then it is now.
This thread is starting to remind me of "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria": "She's a darling, she's a demon . . . she's a headache, she's an angel . . ."
Personally, I'm not much of a fan of her recent extravangas, but I do love her voice and enjoy many of her CDs.
I can't watch her...simply because of her facial expressions. Bizzare.
Sarah Brightman is amazing. I am a HUGE fan. There are some very rude and unfair comments on this thread. How would you fel if you were her and read them?

I, personally, am not a fan of Sarah Brightman's voice. I think she's warbly and shrill, but more power to her for being able to sell so many records.
I think that she could have been a really special stage performer. Listen to her playing Carrie Pipperidge in the studio recording of "Carousel" with Barbara Cook. She's giving a real character performance. Is she the best Carrie ever? No. But, you can hear that the potential was there.
She didn't have the chance to further that potential with "Phantom", however. It's hard to act in those Lloyd-Webber sung-through shows. I know I've done "Aspects." You're too busy trying to remember which bad lyric comes next.
I could have imagined her being an excellent Amalia Balash in "She Loves Me" (and I'm a Barbara Cook fan, keep in mind)
The only concert of hers that I've seen is "Eden".' The only thought that came to my head while watching it was, "Who died and made her CHER?"
She has a unique voice and it's one of those either you love her or you hate her kind of things. Personally, I love her, but I can see why she'd get on some people's nerves. It's just a matter of taste. As for her playing Marian Halcombe...I don't really think she could. That role demands a lot more acting than I think she could put in, but I love Sarah all the same
I could definitely see her doing it... whether I'd want to see her do it is a different story...
She was just "eh" in Phantom...and her career as well as her has kinda just spirled downwards since then...I pray to god she never graces the stage for another musical. That would just not be fair to any theatre patron.

That's mean! poor Sarah, she is fabulous! she can hit notes, that most singers can't.

Her career in recordings and concerts has NOT spiraled down. She's doing very well, thank you.
Her career in stage musicals is non-existent, I would guess because she knows she can't do stage musicals well.
A little bit OT but my mom was listening to an Andreas Botticelli song and there was this woman singing with him so I looked at the cover of the CD and it was Sarah Brightman. It's a really good song. forget the name though.
smiles: Was it "Time to say Goodbye?"
