Could you see her in "The Woman In White"?
I can.
I just want to know what others think.
I see her as Maria Holcombe.
I try NOT to see her anywhere.
But she creeps into my pesadillas!
Absolutely not. Not a fan here. Hopefully she will not grace the stage of a book musical ever again.
will she ever just go away? i hope so.

i just think shes too old for the role in my opinion... but no offense to unmasked at all!
i think Judy Kuhn will be a great Marian, and i love Sarah...but i can't picture her in WIW. I definitly disagree with anyone who says Sarah Brightman shouldn't come back to Broadway. She is amazing!
NO!!!
Her voice is too operatic, she is too plump now, and she doesn't have the strong feminine stage presence to do the show. She is more of the traditional Damsel in Distress than the strong heroine.

Not so plump anymore.
But I agree, I couldn't see her in WIW
She has thinned down a bit. I haven't really payed that much attention to her recently (Though I like her stuff).

I saw her recent "Harem" tour. She really has toned up a lot, and she's doing more mainstream music, less operatic stuff. The "Harem" cd is one of my favorites of hers.
Yes and no - I can hear her singing the songs in character, but seeing her in the role of Marian? not really. I'd love to hear her sing "All for Laura" though. Hmmm... ALW collection volume 3 anyone? (although technically it should be #4 if you count "Surrender: The Unexpected Songs" with the two other ALW collections)
Dunno...I mean I guess the virtual projections behind her of the set remind me of one of her concert tours...but for some reason everytime she decides to float around the stage she reminds me of a giant pigeon...

Sarah Brightman has said it publicly that she has no desire whatsoever to appear in a stage musical again. Of course a person can always change her/his mind but at the moment she's doing her own thing and is happy with it.

Sarah Brightman is the same age as Maria Friedman. However, her voice is definitely NOT suited to Marian's part. If she were lots younger, then maybe Laura.
"she's doing more mainstream music, less operatic stuff."
Good - I'm glad she stopped butchering opera - it was painful to listen too.
But then everything she sings is painful to listen to.

i really like her "time to say goodbye" cd
i think it is very good in my personal opinion...
she is talented with singing, i just am not sure about acting (anyone see her in POTO in... 1988?)

The only thing I can see Sarah Brightman in is the bargain bin at Tower Records.

When I was in high school, I adored her and bought all her CDs. These days, all I can stand to listen to her sing on is the POTO cast CD.
I miss Sarah, i was just listening to Harem and she is just outstanding, she needs to be back on Broadway!
I love her, because I am a fan of the fact that she was a ballerina first, becuase I love the unique tonal quality to her voice, and (contrary to popular opinion) she has a killer bod. Harem dvd anybody? but I just don't understand all of the " I hate her!"
Does anybody have a reason for hate?
The Harem DVD is fantastic! it's magic. I hope she keeps sharing her fantasies, i didn't know she was a ballerina, she hardly dances on the DVD though. Jennifer Hope Wills said on her blog that she admires Sarah and she never thought the dancing was as hard as the singing in Phantom(JHW is currently playing Christine 2/week)

You have to respect someone who has sold millions of albums in the US with no radio exposure.
You have to respect someone who cares so much about her fans and is always producing top-quality concerts and albums--she is fully involved in the creative process and does not let other people speak for her.
And you have to respect someone who is willing to take risks and try out different genres.
Who has heard the biting parody of Sarah Brightman in the "Forbidden Broadway" 20th Anniversary recording? The specific song is "Con Te Partiro" / "Time I Said Goodbye.
One of the wittiest lines is: "I should be charged with a crime for....what I have done.... to opera...and Phantom on stage." Sarah Brightman is a "scream"....and not in a good way. from Roman in Austin, Texas
