Thanks for posting! I used to have the VHS of all the Lloyd Webber music videos.
*still lamenting having missed the Symphony tour*
"Artists are always on the vanguard of change: they give the community a vision."
"Desire comes from the Latin "de sire", or "of the father", or "of the stars". We want what is magical, what is out there, what is of the stars. And so our characters should as well."
"If there are people who don't believe in you, don't hang out with them. Wish them well, wish them peace, and move on."
The Symphony Tour was the best concert I've ever been to in my life!!!
I must say although I'm a huge fan of hers, I find this to be one of her worst performances in Aspects of Love...
She acts the song well, but I just dislike this song and her voice wasn't as good as it is now.
I feel just the opposite. Her voice is fine for me in this video, but her acting is atrocious. There doesn't seem to be anything genuine going on in her face or eyes.
Well, she acts the song well for what I'm used to seeing from her, hahah. She is no Meryl Streep but she sings like an angel.

I agree completely. It's things like this that make me glad that the movie version of Phantom talked about with her back in the early 90's never happened. Every time I see her in a performance I am baffled by the bizarre faces and expressions she has. I've never seen her as an artist who was destined to be on the movie screen.

This is probably the best I've heard her sound, actually.
I've never seen her as an artist who was destined to be on the movie screen.
Though she was perfectly type cast in Repo: The Genetic Opera, and nearly stole the damn movie.
I have those videos on VHS. I love her rendition of the song. Looking at that video you realize just how much face work Sarah has had done. She looks like a different person and she actually looks older in that video than she does now. Thanks for posting this.
Also, Muscle, I am sorry you did not get to see the Harem Tour, it was a much tighter show than the Symphony Tour and I thought far superior. Had you seen it, you might have liked it better.
All in all, I love Sarah and she can do no wrong.
I adore Sarah Brightman and I agree: she can do no wrong.
Wish I could have seen her Rose in person and in it's entireity on stage
I've never seen the appeal of Sarah Brightman at all, but I adore a lot of other love-or-hate-em performers. Every syllable she sings always sounds labored and fake to me-- not necessarily bad, just not enjoyable to listen to. But then again, I am obsessed with Michael Ball, and his voice is DEFINITELY labored and fake sounding, so I can't even rationalize this.
I think that what comes across for me with Sarah is how much she loves music. Her song choices, her dedication to producing a fully conceptualized album, as well as always wanting to entertain and enchant her fans. She is at times over the top and melodramatic, but she is doing it in service of the music and the performance. I think she is stunning on so many accounts. She is a big fan of both classical and contemporary pop songs and melds both worlds seamlessly.
I love Michael Ball and Sarah both!
