Whatever happened to simply not entering a thread about a show you've not yet seen?
I didn't pay $116. I paid $56. It's worth $56 to see.
Luckily, I paid $56 too. I felt it was only worth $30 though...

Wait--so they offer student rush now??
I haven't stagedoored a show in a long time--I will definitely do it for this show though!!
I was there last night too, and I think I liked it even less than WAT. There were a few funny moments, but I rarely laughed out loud like the two guys "busting a gut" next to me.
I will give it to Will that he was totally professional, had all his lines down, etc. I guess I just don't find his brand of humor funny. The "faggy theater district" line at the beginning had me wondering what I was in for the rest of the evening. (There's a Tom Wopat in Annie Get Your Gun joke too!)
I agree with WAT that the secret service dancing needs to go, and there is room for some of the jokes to be cut, especially in the second half which began to feel long.
If you're a fan of Ferrell and his humor you won't be disappointed, but otherwise it just wasn't that good.
Or just wait until March when it's on TV.

I can't decide if I want to see this or not. How were the technical aspects? I just can't imagine this show being two and a half hours. What exactly happens?
For those that have rushed or gone to the box office hoping to get rush seats --- I am planning on rushing with a group of friends for Saturday... hopefully the matinee, but we will see whatever time they can offer us tickets for. We don't really want to get into the city AT 10 am if necessary --- has anyone rushed closer to show time and had any luck? Or if we get in at noon on Saturday, should we be okay?
When I went into the city 2 weeks ago, I got in at noon. Hedda Gabler and Chicago both had already given out their rush tickets and wouldn't sell anymore. It seemed awfully silly to me that they would deny student rush or general rush tickets with the low attendance percentages of late. Wouldn't it make sense to sell seats for rush prices rather than not at all?
Anyways - sorry I got off topic a bit, but can anyone shed light on the rush situation for this. Thanks!

I agree. Especially when the student tickets are deemed "due to availability," but yet they have no student rush but are only selling 60% of the seats? Say what?
But Ferrell is selling out, so it might be harder.
I rushed the first preview and didn't buy my tickets until 7:15 or so. Just be aware that you might end up with partial view seats at the extreme sides of the mezzanine, but you only miss literally three minutes of the show.
