This is very old and I was wondering why it never hit Broadway like it wanted to. Selena is one of my favorite singers and I wish I would have had a chance to see this musical when it was around. They said that "Celia" was the first Broadway bio-musical about a Latina/o. Just a little fun fact, I guess. Maybe if they had cast some Broadway pros would it have worked? There was a thread on this last year and it kinda didn't answer my question.

This was the tour schedule:

I'm pretty sure the tour folded pretty soon after it started so it wasn't very successful. I remember reading an article about that show a couple of years back that mentioned that it had been produced in Mexico City and it was doing very well there. This had a very large cast so it would have to reduce the size in order to do an off-Broadway run. Not sure there's enough of a fan base of hers in order to keep a Broadway show running for very long.
