Besides SPRING AWAKENING...
what other wonderful Broadway shows have featured and/or included the act of sexual intercourse with actors?
I'm thinking of a certain contemporary play that includes full nudity and sexual activity (written in the 80's? perhaps?) but can't remember what it's called.
What other productions are there?

That's scandalous.
No, I was referring to plays and musicals that feature sexual activity on stage.. with the actors... and written in the script.
I doubt there's been many.

I know there's nudity..
I'm strictly speaking of "Sexual Activity"
Radcliffe gets down and dirty with the horse? That must be a new change.

Passion.
They made Marin Mazzie (very awkwardly) cover up for the telecast/DVD, but in performance she was full out naked and riding Giorgio as the curtain went up. Sondheim said those trumpet blasts were Clara's orgasm. And if I remember the commentary correctly from the DVD, in the London production Giorgio had her bent over on all fours as the curtain rose.

Posted: 2/15/09 at 12:44amThe DVD is so awkward at the start. Sometimes she has a mic down her back, sometimes she doesn't.

Holy smokes! Everyone forgets Bobby and April's sex scene during "Tick Tock" in the original 1970 Broadway production of COMPANY.
Then there's the graphic simulated sexual acts (in silhouette) during "Two Ladies" in Sam Mendes' reinvention of CABARET back in 1998.

Posted: 2/15/09 at 12:51amI don't remember her mic cable appearing/disappearing between shots, because her mic pack was in her wig for that scene (at least in performance it was), but I did notice it on Jere Shea, but it's been a while since I've watched it, so it could be that I just have forgotten about it.

Brody, my parents hadn't even met during the original COMPANY run.
And, I think Byron's right. I was thinking of Jere Shea's mic cord. I just know that one back has a cord....then doesn't. Like MAGIC.

Posted: 2/15/09 at 1:11amI'm pretty sure they mentioned it on the commentary. It's been a while since I watched the DVD with the commentary, and sadly my copy is currently in storage so it's not handy to fact check at the moment.

Posted: 2/15/09 at 2:01amThe Blue Room is a two person play in which each scene shows a sexual encounter between a character from the previous scene and a new character. The broadway production had very little nudity which was overhyped since it was Nicole Kidman.

I saw the original production of Company twice and I don't remember this. Admittedly, it was a long time ago and I was very young, and both times I was sitting in a slightly obstructed seat. But I've also watched the TOFT video and don't recall seeing anything there, though the camera understandably focused on McKechnie during the number and anything Robert and April were doing probably wouldn't have been visible.
