The incident of Patti not wanting to particpate in speaking to the audience during the bc/efa drive was during NOISES OFF. And she said she wholeheartedly supported bc/efa and has so for years, but she didn't believe it was appropriate to turn to an audience and ask for more money they're already paying an arm and a leg for a ticket.

Wrong attitude- the audience wanted her to and she knew it.
Sums her up completely.

Speaking of attitude,
Yours sucks, Mama.
If you don't like Patti, fine, but really, do you have to go ON and ON about it?

People will always hate Patti, and they will hate her with a passion. I don't understand hating a performer without knowing them in person. And I don't know of many performers who care about the theater as much as LuPone.

"In March she'll start touring the country with Mandy patinkin in their concert."
As one of the West End board's Patti Lupone fans I'd love to see her over here again.
Unfortunately we've got Mandy Patinkin in concert at the moment, of whom I'm not a fan - Forbidden Broadway's Somewhat Overindulgent explains it for me. Apparently at one of his performances last week he kept blowing the lyric for Franklin Shepherd Inc and had to restart the song eight times. At one point, someone in the audience shouted out "'phone Sondheim".

I don't either but perhaps Mama has worked with Ms Lupone.

I SINCERELY doubt he has worked with LuPone, no offense to him.

Wow, thats so unprofessional. Even high school performers know not to stop and shout at the audience no matter how rude and distracting they are...

When your name is above the title of the show, you can do anything you darn well please.

Well, this lessens my opinion of her. Very unprofessional, and people who don't frequent Broadway might not know that taking pictures is rude.

It's not rude, it's ILLEGAL!
I guess 'rude' is not paying attention to the pre-show announcement.

Those are precisely the people who should be taken out to the alley and tasered.
They won't make THAT mistake a second time!

If she wanted to reprimand them, she could've done it during curtain call. If she is in contact with the ushers, she could have had them caught before they left the theatre or made the speech after the piece had finished. I would've been very put off had I been there to see the show only to see the star break during such a pivotal moment.

They're lucky she didn't have them drawn and quartered.
Or tarred and feathered. Yeah, that's what they should have done.
Too bad the show is closing. MAybe they could have made that the punishment.

MamasDoin'Fine, you were traumatized by that performance, weren't you? You never miss an opportunity to express your horror at the possibility of the production transferring to London.
On behalf of your American cousins, let me assure you that should they be so ill advised as to bring it over, you can't be forced to see it.
I think that's in the Magna Carta.

She has probably gotten so fed up (this probably goes on every performance) that she had just reached a point where she could not take it anymore & she snapped
I like the boobs who do this upstairs or in a venue like an outdoor arena. They really truly must think a flash covers to infinity.

Unfortunately, yes, he does. He consistently posted the same angry, bitter rants about her before he changed his SN from "WickedBoy" to "Mama'sDoinFine" after his embarrassing & horrific behavior in that shameful English vs. American thread several months ago.
Give it a rest. I happen to love her work in the Sweeney Todd revival and again in Gypsy, but I can certainly admit that she isn't perfect and is far from always extraordinary. She has her faults like everyone else. I don't understand the vitriolic hatred for her that so many people feel the need to let loose on here.
Moving on.

Does taking Curtain Call pictures (W/out flash) make me a bad person?

Without flash is bad enough but not tragic. Taking with a flash is downright annoying.

I didnt have to change it. I was given the option by Craig actually clever arse! I actually made a point of making it known to one and all i had changed my name but that was 4 months ago - how sad that you still have to bring it up. Sad child.
And the American English thing- listen to you lot - all because I don't like Patti LuPone and say so- how sad is that?!

Technically the actors are still in costumes, so curtain call would be a no, too, I believe because they're unauthorized.

and theres a lot on here who have to listen to those who love her and when something bad is said you come down like a ton of bricks.
Im just saying what i think and don't mock you for your thoughts on here but you do on everyone who dares against her!
