*anxiously awaits BSo's reply to this thread*
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

I'm thinking BSo won't really be happy?

Shoshana, while amazing, is not at all right for Les Miz. She could probably do Fantine in ten years, with a much more controlled vocal style.

If she doesn't like crowds, why would she go into the music industry? Presumably, if she's successful, there will be lots of crowds even larger than the ones at the Gershwin stage door.

She's said she is never doing Broadway again. She just doesn't have the stuff that makes a great musical theatre performer. I wish her luck on her obscure label, where I can easily avoid her brand of entertainment.

i love Shoshana very much, but i can't see her in any role in Les Miz... just doesn't seem her style at all.

I adore Seth's work, but his love for Shoshana baffles me. I usually can understand why people like a performer, even if I don't, but this one baffles me. Truly.

Stylistically, she seems about as wrong as you can get for any female character in Les Mis. Hopefully her recording thing goes well, though.

I'm not sure that she ever even got "Elphaba" right in her year in that role. This woman must know her limitations.

You know what, you guys are right. I was listening to my Les Mis awhile ago, and said to myself, no, it wont be good for her or for the production.
It was just a thought.
I like Sho, she's really great. But it would take time before she could return to Broadway with a good role.
Regarding the crowd, ya, she did mention once that the crowd was just too much. I read it somewhere...but the thing is, why would she even take time to take her fans backstage if she don't like the crowd (pertaining to the Shoshana footage on her website)?
I just wish her all the luck.
God, cant wait to see Les Mis again here in Philly.
Sorry guys, I did not mean to make you throw up.
God Bless to everyone.
Sorry again.

She does realize the crown would have been the same for any other Elphaba right? Not so much her...

Shoshana is one of the most talented gals in the music industry. Not every great talent belongs in a Broadway musical, not because they don't have the "stuff". But because more often than people care to admit there is a lot of crap to deal with behind the curtain of the crowds.
There are a handful of vocalists that have more presence and power on stage than many of the prima donnas/whiners that put in their time 8 x a week for 6mos.-1 yr. and never really have the "right stuff" to go beyond that. They just happen to be in front of the right people at the right time.
I met Shoshana at a Nyack concert back when no one knew her. Her stage persona, style and vocal power blew everyone away. I thought back then, this girl has got it!
She was/is one of the coolest, got her head on straight gals in the biz. Smart move for her to use her unique talent recording. With the right people at the right time, she will find her way, too.
While it doesn't hurt to have Wicked on your bio, there's thousands of stages out there to explore beyond the 12 blocks of Broadway. I hope she soars!

I bet she'd also really appreciate that you know her name is Shoshana, not Soshana, PB.

LOL! Trust me, She wouldn't care that I gave her name an Asian twist, as I did years ago .... but I'll fix it anyway.
