I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
"The tick BOOM tick BOOM is so loud I can't hear the rain on the grass. I can't hear the wind. I'm about to scream. But I realize I'm not alone."

I'm personally not a fan of riffing in "I Dreamed a Dream", but that just might be me.
And to add to this... no, I don't think it'd be nice, I love Les Mis too much - I'd be horrified.

Now what would you say if today I started over?
Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover
And I'll pretend like everything is already alright
And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight

Shoshana made it very clear that she has no desire to return to Broadway.
So...no.
(I also think she'd be horrible, but that's besides the point.)

I don't think she'd be very good. Not that she isn't a talented singer for she is, but after her response to Elphaba and the spotlight, I don't think she wants broadway anymore. I think she wants to start staring in films. Ashame, such good talent.

Wait, where did she say she didn't want to return to Broadway??

she didn't directly say it, but on January 10th she quit Elphaba because she didn't like "the crowds"

Oh that sucks.
I was aware that Eden went on but I just assumed Shoshana's contract was up. Whoa, I missed the whole deal...she just quit like that? Is there a post about this?

Truth be told, I have no idea if there is a post. I mourned the day she left, she was very talented. She started leaving out side doors to avoid the crowds. I don't know if her contract was up, it may have been, but she did make it clear the crowds were too much.

her contract WAS up as far as I know!?
And I once teased her about looking as if she was incognito and she said she wished it was that bad. Certainly a new focus in the music industry wouldnt remove the presence of fans.

She did not quit, her contract was up and she decidided to leave because she wanted to pursue a career in the music business, not because of the crowds (although she may not have liked them).

Shoshana signed a twelve month contract. She left after that particular agreement was up. She stayed the full year-long run.
And she supposedly isn't interested in Broadway right now because she is eager to get her recording career started. She has the record deal, so we'll see.

She's one of my favorite vocalists, but the pop/gospel sound she has, and the riffs she's so GREAT at, are not at all appropriate for the role or the show.

Were those two words just used in the same sentence?
"You know who I think is sexy? Robbie Hart."
"You think the 'Time to Make the Donuts' guy is sexy."

She left Wicked because she wanted to record her album. Her music career was her top priority, not Broadway. The crowds had no influence on her departure. She signed a one year contract and made it clear she wasn't going to renew. I don't know where you go that misconception from, but it's anything but the truth.

Holy Mother of God, Sweet Lord Jesus, Father in Heaven NO NO NO NO NO. Please. NO.
And that's my reaction to just the mere THOUGHT of it.

This is not even slightly amusing. The very notion of it makes me ill. She would butcher it beyond recognition.
And hang on, when did you win the discus?
